This is very interesting...

Veteran rider Dick Mann, meanwhile, streaked to victory on his CB750 FOUR at the AMA Daytona 200-Mile Race in March 1970. It was a ride that sent customers throughout the States running to their Honda dealers.

Too bad that they have forgotten to speak of the very important victory of 2 drivers French Michel Rougerie and Daniel Urdich on the Honda CB750 Factory number 61, who won the 24 hours of the 33 Rd BOL d'Or endurance on September 13, 1969!
I think that it is necessary to reset the thing has good places... It is only the victory of the Honda CB750 61, which was almost a motorcycle series (aside from the diameter 30 of carburetors equipped with a rudder K1 and his second brake disc) which actually did explode sales worldwide from September to December 1969... And certainly not the victory of Honda Daytona in March 1970 4 incurred motorcycles because a Daytona were motorcycles racing more elaborate far series bikes...
This race non-stop 24 hours has proved to the world that awaited the verdict that the Honda CB750 was very reliable and above all very very solid... And there, it was a bet held and won for Honda who had ecrasse his opponents!!

Honda racing experience gave birth to the CB750.  In turn, the CB750 was modified for racing.  Good stuff.

Ducati, on the other hand, builds racing bikes, homologates the race machine to a limited production  street version and then in turn mass produces street bikes based on homologated race versions.  Good stuff.
