So we know that 7414 were sandcast. Can I assume we are talking about the number of sandcast motors? Do we know where #7414 is and what the frame number was? Did anything change on frame 7415 that was different than 7414? Was 7414 frame the same as the frame on the die cast?

I think that's an interesting question.  If you check the CB750-K2 parts manual the frame changed at 3950.  That's when it went from a left-hand horn to a right-hand horn.  It appears it did not change up to the K2s.  My feeling is that frames 7414 and under are called a "sandcast" frame only because the sandcast engines went to 7414.  Unless E7414 is found in a frame we will never know but I'll bet it wasn't in frame 7414.  So I'm guessing that the numbers get a little crazy around 7414 and there's likely some engines with numbers greater than 7414 that are in frames with numbers less than 7414 and also some engines with numbers less than 7414 that are in frames with numbers greater than 7414.  In that second case is that a sandcast frame?

Mark that is a real dilemma. Coincidence or is there some other reason for lack of anything really close to 7414. In the registry we have a fairly good spread of engine numbers right up to E7375 but then nothing until E7747 This could be that die cast owners are not big participants in the sandcast area. The frame VINs are even more spread at magical VIN7414. Last sandcast is VIN7352 next being VIN7752, the earliestt whole VIN recorded The VIN77xx could be 7701 or 7799 so unless we have a full number reality is 7752 is it. There are no pairings from 7348/7318 to 8054/8135
Around 500 numbers between sandcast and diecast pairings. It would be very informative if there were some very close numbers so we could make some "assumptions" at least. I realise that assumptions are not answers but until both VIN 7414 and E7414 are found we are really left with nothing else.

I have the engine #7384 wich is quite late. Bought it from Germany (Sandguss on Ebay) and paired it with my #5128 frame as the frame was equippped with a diecast engine when i bought it. I didnīt ask Sandguss about any paired frame to the engine so I can not supply any such info.

Another question that I have is my Sandcastfriend here in Sweden Bo Göran Fredin who speaks about #7414 in this thread this year.

If I'm reading this correctly, Bo may have acquired engine E7414 but not the matching frame.

I emailed and Bojje replied to me. He did find frame #7414, but it is in current use on a Seeley. I would try my darkest to try and swap a different sandcast frame with the guy to end up with matching number 7414. It wouldn't be a factory combo , but still be valuable.
