Sandcast 220/E248 is listed on eBay. Very early production, but it's got lots of miles on it and many parts have been replaced.

Hi!
The hardest to find and missing part is the 19-litre fueltank. In my opinion a full restore without the 19-ltre only brings it to 50% of it’s final value.

Can someone please explain the significance of the photo with the tape measure across the front forks.  Am I missing something here?

Hi Kevin I do not know the whole story ...
But I do not see what's the point of measuring here? Especially with so little precision ... So I think you have not missed anything important!

i'm not surprised at $17k regardless that others believe the bike overpriced.  according to the registry, 30 vins under 250 are recorded.  the world benefits from this forum and has brought the nuances and desirability of the sandcast to people who can pay $17k for a bike like that.
