General Discussion / Re: Double Cut Mudguards/Fenders & #8 Bolts
« on: October 03, 2019, 05:22:15 am »
Anyway, there is no need to buy it to see that it's shit... :( >:(
They also make a support tail light mount and we can see that it's also of poor quality ...
But we all say : After all, maybe than...? But no, it is important not to say that, because like that we do not buy it !!
It is better to buy a front fender of K1, in order to cut it and redo the chrom...
It will not be more authentic, but at least it will be of good quality ... :D ;)

If I recall correctly, Tom Philips was a motorcycle racer back then, most likely competing at the 1969 Isle of Man TT.
The bike shown up in the air is the green pre-production bike at the 1969 Brighton show, never again seen or heard of? The Gold bike #2110 was at floor level at that show.

Thanks you Chris.R for explanations ;)

I do not know if it was shared here...
Some photos never seen for some and found on Facebook "CB750 K0 Sandcast and Diecast"

Caption of the first photo :
Once upon a time in 1969 IOM.Tom Philips on Honda CB750 #2110.
A friend of mine was there and got a test ride. Then he went home and ordered one...

Beautiful bike !!
I'll make a remark (not a criticism) because you always have to do at least one on a Sandcast even if it is superbly restored ... !!
I think the straight strip of the fuel tank goes down too low on the end ... But it's just to say something because this bike is superb...

Hi Kevin :) I do not know the whole story ...
But I do not see what's the point of measuring here? Especially with so little precision ... So I think you have not missed anything important!

To answer your mail Michael, the biggest problem, compared to the photo in the book, is that it no longer has its original exhaust pipes which were HMCB750 (very rare) and there at better, we have HM300 and at worst HM341,
it has kept its clutch cover 9/10 which is good, when we know that 7414 has received the same clutch cover 9/10, which proves that the Honda factory was already short of 9-hole clutch cover in November 69, it's a little crazy ...
The protection grids of the pots are also to change, the face of the speedometer is not good, the price must be able to negotiate a little more than 20,000 € I think, but these French Sandcasts are rarities and it is important to consider in your offer...

A French proverb : It is better to have remorse than regrets !!

Hi Michael,
Yes... it seems to be correct, but it is not perfect because there are some errors, the Candy Gold could be correct, because this bike has a registration that certainly dates from the month of April 1970 knowing that the first 750 K0's Candy Gold arrived in France during the month of February 1970 ...
And only the French Sandcast series 14000 and 17000 for some had Candy Gold colors...

It's just a question... Because we do not know much in France of the peculiarities of the first Sandcast because the first arrival "official" is dated at the beginning of October 69 and set aside the 313 we have never found trace of the 73 bikes of the month of September 69 or it was marked "California" on the wooden crates containing the bikes.
And how much does the stem in mm from the start of the blinker to the nut near the headlight bowl?

Hi Mark, on your 97 engine start-up video, I seem  see the longer winkers rods on the front ...
Were they longer on the very first Sandcast models?

Parts For Sale / Duck tail seat 17 holes Sandcast K0
« on: July 05, 2019, 07:07:10 am »
Duck tail seat Sandcast or K0 100% original in very good condition and has nothing to do with the wrecks that we see on sale often EBay ...

Look at the photos, the Honda Logo on the back has some erasing traces, and two small cuts on the corner on each side underneath and they are circled in red on the photo of the seat bottom.

The front of the seat to the gas tank has no cuts or tears, the red and yellow foam still has a  good hold and does not disintegrate.

The top seat is in very good condition with no rips or cuts, and the padded squares have a very good relief,
and this detail is very important on a Sandcast seat.

You will buy what you see...

700 euros + shipping cost
