I have a riveted tag VIN is 1017002 and the manufacture date is 12/69. Where do I find the date of manufacture in the crankcase?

Parts Wanted / K0-Die Cast #1 carberator

I need a #1 carberator body only. Jets, needle seat, floats all good.  Aluminum crystallized due to back fires through carberator and age. Carbs 2 thru 4 good.

Thanks for the reply. Since I will be changing out the cables, does it matter which pair is right and which left?

General Discussion / float adjustment

  Three questions.
The barn find die cast engine number is 1038592. since the carbs have been off the bike since 1986 I have started with them. Basically very clean except for the needle and seats, and the bowl gaskets are dry. Being replaced. Does anybody have a link to the float adjustments that used to be in the old green shop manual. If so please let me know. The Hanes manual I bought on line fails to mention anything about the floats.
The slides on this bike have two different numbers. 1&2 have the number 154 stamped on the bottom of the slide and 3&4 have 153. Is this significant?
Bike had ape hangers(yuk), which means that I will be returning to stock handle bars. Need to change out the throttle cable from the twist grip to the junction box. The four individual cables are good. Has anybody changed just the single cable or do I need to obtain the whole unit?
  Thanks for your help.

Exhaust / Re: questions about the exhaust

A further question. I have 2 CB750 K0 die casts. The one that is registered with CB750 Sandcast and a barn find that I am beginning to work on. The registered bike has exhaust pipes that are not stamped and the barn has HM300. Just curious as to when the pipes began to be stamped with part numbers. Thanks Alan

Thank you. When I take inventory of what I need I will do as you suggest.

I just bought a "barn find" 750 K0. It is late in the K0 run with only 12K miles. Some parts are missing and I would like to find used original manufacture. So any word on bone yards is appreciated.

Thanks
Alan
