General Discussion / Re: Build dates
« on: February 01, 2019, 01:36:48 am »
Hi!
Interesting discussion. Just that swedish magasine will have an article about sandcasts with photos of my bikes in next magasine as 50 year anniversary. They have also made a reprint of the article you are asking for. I will check later today what I can find and hopfully be able to confirm, what I thought we all had as productionstart, 15 of March 1969.

Gauges - Levers and Cables / Re: Gearboxes Sandcast ( Three Types ? )
« on: January 23, 2019, 03:55:30 pm »
Hi.
The first kind you have is used from VIN around 500 and up to around 1500. Your second kind I have seen a couple of times but I am not sure if it is a bad cut of your first kind or if it is another kind we have not spoken about before. What I know is that my #1741/1803 has them on both gauges. Your third kind I use to say is used from around 1500 and up to 12000-13000. I have also seen later bikes with one gauge with your third kind and one with a diecast gear.
Will be interesting to hear what comment the other guys have about this topic.
Kind Regards, Bo from sweden.

Hi!
I admire the guy with fast fingers, would like to be as quick as him. I really hate people driving and texting. Everyone needs concentrate on just driving.

Parts For Sale / Re: FS: CB750four K0 sandcast rear wheel
« on: January 19, 2019, 02:05:50 pm »
Hi!
Some days ago I told the latest rounded rearrims I have seen are on my 22885 and my friends 16xxx. These are the later halfrounded rims. In my opinion the full rounded ended somewhere around 13000.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
Kind Regards, Bo from Sweden.

Wheels - Hubs - Spokes - Tires / Re: Rolled rear rim

Hi!
The latest one I have with a rolled rear rim is a K0 VIN 22885. My friend Rolf in Sweden has a K0 VIN 16xxx also has a rolled rear rim. I believe both has theirs original rear rim. In my meaning all bikes, except the first 200 bikes, until end of K0 has two hole rear hubs.

Hi!
If you look at the restored disc in the topic close to this you can see how my restore looks. It was made with a machine ( I dont know the name in english but translated direct from swedish it might be a rotating magnetoboard with radial working grindstone) to witch I built a extra disc where I can mount the hondadisc to grind the frontside. Backside is easily done as the disc is ”glued” on the magnetoboard. You need to find a machineryshop with that kind of grinder. Unfortunately the company not far from me went bankrobbed so now I do not know where to do it anymore.
Kind regards, Bo from Sweden.

Hi!
This one is from beginning a bike in german style, it means it still has framenumber on right side and a cover above steering stopper. It also has a Neiman steering lock, position light and a ”p” between L and H on throttleswitch, to swtch on just position light. VIN #5118/5042. This bike is just before my previous daily rider #5119/5065.

Hi!
This red sandcast #2134/2201 is a very nice bike. It came to sweden the first week of August 1969 together with my ”race inspired” red sandcast #2136/2079.#2134/2201 (I will check enginnumber tomorrow to be sure) is also light race converted with dualdiscs, alloyrims, K1 carbs, german handlebar. When I saw it in sweden it still had a thinlipped alternatorcover. It is a real nice patinabike, never restored. Will be interesting to see what it will go for.
Kind Regards, Bo from sweden.

Hi.
Pretty many of my sandcasts are imported to Sweden from USA and most of them had Dunlop front tyres. Only one, also US bike, had its original rear tyre. Also a Dunlop, a K87.

Hi!
My first CB750, a K0, VIN 24xxx, I purchased in 1970 had Dunlops like them you can buy from Yamiya. Pretty many of my sandcasts had same Dunlop front tyres when they arrived to me. Only one had its original rear tyre, also a Dunlop K87. This is the only I can support you with.
Best Regards Kerry and a Merry  Christmas, Bo from Sweden.

Brakes / Re: disc distinctions
« on: December 14, 2018, 08:33:24 am »
Hi!
Mark has asked me to send Pictures of 300 disc and 341 disc for him to compare. In the attachments you can see a refurbished 300 disc and a normal used nonrefurbished 341 disc. Since I do not find how to attach Pictures in an answer to him direct I choose this way instead. If there are any differences between 300 discs someone else has to tell.
Kind Regards, Bo from Sweden.

Front End and Suspension / Re: fork damper valve
« on: November 19, 2018, 06:07:25 pm »
Hi!
From VIN it looks you have a pretty early K1. To dissasemble these just dismount circlip, drain oil, and push lower forkleg to dissasemble. Might be hard to push off, use gloves. The bottomscrew at lower forkleg needs dismount at first at late -73 years model, with newer frontfendermount.
Good Luck, Bo from Sweden.

General Discussion / Visit at Mark
« on: November 19, 2018, 12:53:37 pm »
Hi!
I have been in USA for hunting last week. In the meantime my friend Randy and I visited Mark Buettner at his company. I want to thank Mark for his hospitallity and showing his bikes. #97/100 is a really nice bike and I am sure his projects also will be.
Thank you Mark, Bo from Sweden
