General Discussion / Re: World Motorcycles "Remanufactured" Sandcast

Wouldn't that be nice Riccardo  :o

I like the sense of accomplishment researching, locating, bargaining, saving, & refinishing (sometimes refinishing) every part on my bikes. Once a bike is completed, it all seems worthwhile and accomplished, then I'm off to the next project.

Don't get me wrong, I would gladly purchase a Vic World Sandcast, if good fortune continues to shine on me.......someday  ;D

Cheers,
Duane

Also i am very entusiath of each part of my bikes.
The search, the refinisch, the idea to do the restore are all parts of our passion.
But, after 7 restoration e 3 project on fire ( one Z1, one more Sandcast and one more K0), i would open, for one time, the crate with my new toy.

I think is correct chancge all the nuts and coppers, if they not go in contrast with cams or cam towers.
The leak problem can be real for each stud.
Change all or nothing.
Only a question on the quality of those nuts, are they Japan or China or Vietnam quality?
Sometime many reprop parts are poor quality, are only beautyfull to see them.

I'll be very happy if one i'll purchase a Vic's sandcast.
Without efforts,  without dirty hands, without headaches, olnly money.
Like when you go in a store:
goodmorning, do you have the all new '69 Cb750? Yes? How much? Ok the price for me is good, i want buy.
Yes,  something like that.
I hope a day.

Ash,

i think Yamiya is reluttant to start new production.

The last week i wrote them an email regarding the ipotetic reproduction of the early flat seat, pre-production style (2113), i never have had any reply until now.

The rims, expecially the rear rim, are very sufferent in the over 45 years, and the rusty is normal.

My deepest thanks to Steve for everything you gave us but Steve remains one of us.
Best wishes to Wayne now begins a new adventure.
The road is still long and we hope everyone to walk together for a long time.

New Member Introductions / Re: Members average age.

PS: I'm considering trading 576 as trade or partial trade for a nice one. Any takers?

For many years we went looking for small differences in production.
We dug far and wide to discover more and more of these bikes.
We talked about restoration, and we have tried to ensure the best techniques to reproduce the originality of 1969.
We wanted a time machine.
Today it seems to me, even after the recent auctions on ebay, that all of us would like to find a perfect, immaculate, unmolested, one owner bike, as well as the day of the sale, only to clean up for good, leaving a little also the signs of aging.
In truth, over the last year have been sold many beautiful motorcycles, but I also think that views closely aren't exactly as in the pictures.

however unlikely, in the future, i hope the bike does not go into deep hiding and can be seen for the appreciation of sandcast lovers.

The past month of january I had a telephone conversation about two and a half hours with Vic, has not been easy because my english is not so good.

An extraordinary person.

I don't know the personal reasons that push Vic selling the bike, I have no interest in this.

Honestly I think Vic is and remains one of the few people in the (sandcast) world who can be the owner of this bike, or I hope it ends in Honda Museum in Japan, so can be for everyone.

I'm 57.

I would like to explain myself better.
My intention was to insert a progressive counter in the site system that we could say the average age (medium age) of the members.
So from this statistic could monitor whether the average age tends to go down or up.
In this way we know whether the interest in these bikes can involve more young people or the no longer young, observing the trend.
I think Wayne is able to do this, placing a medium counter:
the sum of the ages of all members / the number of members.
All subscribers ' data are already in the system, in every single page of registration is the date of birth.

Maybe it's just my mind saw!

It would be really interesting to know the average age of members of the SOOC.
So we constantly check to see if the interest for our beloved motorcycle it is cultivated also by young people more than we do, or that we were just us alone!
I think that the data can be easily extrapolated from the registration cards of individual members.
It's only an idea.
