This is on my 1969,1002950 bike trying to figure if this is original gauge? what year is this gauge

Can you post a picture of the face of the guage. Marty K.

The later production of the earlier gauges by Honda. Difference is the gearbox. Tell tale is the long drive shaft. Occasionally see these on ebay

KP is right. If you need the right one, these are hard to find with the sandcast gearbox. I do have one refurbished for sale, 100% original.

Yes, later production.
Some times on ebay, i agree with KP.

Mr Swan was the source of my info a year or so back, bless his little heart ;D

i've not ever seen one of those long stemmed gauges. Do they have an actual removeable drive box ? Can the gauge it's self be used with an original drive box ?
-
Same or similar set up to Kawasaki instruments although the Kawasaki has the back pressed into the gearbox which looks to the the one difference

The drive gear is similar to the K3 and later gauges. Also the non-US K2 gauges from 1974 and later has these drive gears. The drive box can only be removed from the inside.
The original drive box can NOT be used with this gauge.
