Thought perhaps some might enjoy seeing these. i am very proud top own this piece of literature which came in the crate with the motorcycle. there is an even earlier piece of Set-up literature that came out in the form of an actual service bulletin from Honda to dealers.

some people "think" the CB750 was assembled in California. imho, "think" = "bullshit." i'm probably wrong........ won't be the first time.
i bought it off ebay, Australia, over 10 years ago. i paid $500 for it. i will scan the Service Bulletin for set-up and pre-delivery and post it. the loose leaf SB is completely different than the manual.
i will try scanning some of the various literature i have, a lot of it is oversize and won't fit a scanner.

here's the service bulletin. i am "assuming" it is earlier than the 69.6 pre-delivery manual becasue the picture of the bike on the front is the early pre-production machine. in this SB, the early production unit clearly has been removed from the wooden crate and is ready to be set up for delivery to the show room floor. there is no print date on this piece of literature.

here's the service bulletin. i am "assuming" it is earlier than the 69.6 pre-delivery manual becasue the picture of the bike on the front is the early pre-production machine. in this SB, the early production unit clearly has been removed from the wooden crate and is ready to be set up for delivery to the show room floor. there is no print date on this piece of literature.
That picture clearly indicates that the bike picture/drawing used in the owners manual is the same as this with the production badges added. Even the carbs are the same

these 2 undated brochures also fold out to 12x24 inches. the first is the infamous "indian girl" brochure. the second brochure advertises the CB750 in 4 colors.

i'm guessing the bike was test ridden....... back in the day, that front brake was a sensation.

Preservative oil out of engine and oil tank.
10 40 oil in before 5 minutes warm up. No mention of priming oil pump!

Uli, what very wonderful very rare pictures.
i'm guessing the fellow riding the bike is a member of the press corps. he looks like he's never ridden a motorcycle before, mouth open and looking at the front wheel. funny. or else he is in awe of riding the bike. i sure as heck would have been ! i'd probably be crying !

wow, how my tastes for appearance aesthetics have changed. back in the day, i thought the triples dated in appearance and silly looking. now i think the triples look every bit as good and in certain ways better than the Honda. i remember when i rode 4779 to California, May 1970, leaving Salt Lake City at dusk, met up with a fellow who had JUST taken delivery of a new Trident, we rode together to Elko and i slept overnight on his couch in his trailer house. His name was Vance Reed. i was 18. the shop Olsen Brother's Cycle is where i worked the summer of 1970. Art Olsen was the owner. This is the shop that sold 4779 to Dad.
that Fall, i headed again to California to begin college studies on a 1952 H-D panhead. i was straight off the farm. note the gallon Clorox jug full of gasoline. that Sportster tank held 1.8 gallons........ i look at that picture and shake my head.... WHO was that young man anyway !?!?

Cool young Dude on the Harley chop! Bars look similar (from memory) to those on your Calvin; but not the forks fortunately.

Wow those are some awesome finds. I got an early service manual and have the original owners manual for my sandcast. My bike had an almost complete tool set, I've been looking for the feeler gauges and point file. I have the reproduction dealer handout, would love to own some original papers. A cb350F I owned had the parts list from the crate under the seat, one for my 750 would be awesome too.

would really be something if any vin sandcast were found to exist in an unopened crate.
