Title: Neoprene Points Cover Gaskets And Headlight Washers
Post by: markb on October 30, 2013, 07:52:50 am
Here's a thread from the SOHC4 site that you may find interesting.  The guy makes the square washers used on the ground connection in the headlight bucket (as well as the round ones and points cover gasket too).  They look good and are cheap enough.  I'm going to order a few sets of the headlight washers.

fwiw, at the risk of sounding like an A.S.S., the original headlight gskts (the inner gskts which go under the headlight case nuts with a rectangular ground plate and wire) these headlight gskts are rectangular, not square.  not that this is a big deal, but the inside headlight nut does have a rectangular base and fits in a rectangular area of the headlight bucket, so a rectangular cushion would give more support to the plastic headlight bucket.

Good point.  I've been using round ones that I picked up at the hardware store so this is one step better.
