Title: Braided Earth Wires - Flat/Round VIN #
Post by: vnz00 on March 02, 2012, 04:47:31 am
Hi all,
I pulled a round braided earth wire off #5528 the other day. I know these were used into the early K0s.  But there is also a flat braided wire too. Any idea of what the VIN cut off was from one to the other?  Also how close is the Yamiya repop?

Also, how are these finished? Are they tinned copper braid I.e. a dull silver finish, or are they a zinced finish.

Thanks all,
Steven V.

Well I finally got around to taking a photo of the two original Honda ones I have. Note the round one is a tighter braid than the flatter one.

The Yamiya one is very broad and flat, and I don't have one handy. But much different compared to standard

Does anyone know which is earlier?

Thanks, Steven

IF my memory serves me correctly, the flat looser braid is what i have on 232, which came with the amazingly complete chassis.  IF i recall correcty, 2157's cable is same as 232.

Cool, thanks Steve. I thought as much but I just wanted to be sure.
