There is also the raised dimples cast into the carb bodies on cable carbs, these are located on the ends just above the float bowls. the early carbs have none then later carbs have one then later again two on one side, then 3 and later again 4 with two on each side,  also the early breather fitting were different and they had 28 raised on the lids TC

Hi Bill I know they had 2 ring pistons and were bored to 61.5 (thanks Keith I have corrected it) to get close to 750cc for formula 750 class. Tom

Hi Pete, Yes the font is the same and it looks good for size and print.
My gripe is The 3M website says it is Polycoated Kraft Paper, as per my earlier link and Bruno says its Alloy plate, My guess is with a flame applied it may burn? I received a prompt reply from him about my concern and he said they have many pos feedback about them and he offered me a refund if I return it (not worth the effort) It is way better than the repo thin sticker that I previously bought. Best regards Tom

I don't know if these are any good but it looks right these were used on many models including the USA market early Z50AK1's
I have just bought one and will let you guys know when it arrives.

Well I received my Repo No number plate during the week, and I have compared it to my original and the other repo sticker type available,
and after reading the sellers Ad Words again it gets a thums down from me. The printing is good but the Alloy plate is very different, why do people mislead you when selling their product This repo plate is not as thick the original, REMEMBER, the detail makes a difference.
How can that be the same as original? its printed on 3M Product 467MP that is 0.11mm thick Polycoated Kraft Paper (PCK) see the 3M Link http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/104064O/high-performance-adhesive-transfer-tapes-with-3m-adhesive-200mp.pdf

Copied from ebay

"Anodized natural aluminum with  black writing
ALU PLATE Size in mm : 91 mm x 27 mm,
Thickness 0.1 mm
Same as the original, the rear site is  with  adhesive glue to join better to the  frame
Like the original, this plate is a sheet of anodized aluminum thickness of 0.1 mm is not a self-adhesive plastic! Thoroughly clean the chassis to be fat before you attach
REMEMBER, the detail makes a difference
Put your trust in our hands and Buy with confidence"

General Discussion / Re: Honda Museum Sandcast. Which seat fitted?

I totally understand Honda UK. Yamiya is parasiting on Honda engineers and brand. It is not legal to use Honda logo on their products.
I´m sure you will be also not happy if anybody else will use brand logo of your own company and will copy your products, or yes....?
Yamiya could be happy to not been producing Apple replicas. If so, top management will be just in prison, because Apple will not allow it.

. Copying is a sincere form of flattery BTW

The problem is there are copies and there are copies, I bought some triumph copy parts that could only be described by me as a POS and I can fully understand why Honda don't want there name on any old POS copy parts, on the other hand everything I have bought from Yamiya and all their parts i have seen have been first class, compared to some other parts on the market so the guy at Yamiya is doing a great job and Honda could be proud of his stuff.

I think this is a great idea, but a lot of work, I was asked to look at some pics of a "Sandcast" frame last weekend only to see bad numbers and a digit short too.

Kerry's question 'which market' was a good one, here in Oz we did not get compliance plates till the 1976 model year.
my 1006946 and 1006958 bikes both have the no number silver stick on plate

General Discussion / Re: sandcast 750 oil return pills (jets?) in head
« on: October 26, 2014, 05:48:48 pm »
One big problem the early heads had was people that did not do regular oil and filter changes.
I have seen numerous broken engines where one of the two oil feed hole to the cam boxes would block up with crud and deprive oil to that cam box and then half the cam would run dry and seize, the camshaft would often break in half.
Often the engine would still run on two cylinders at reduced power.
I followed a friend home about 20 miles with his engine running on two and when we pulled the engine apart and found a blocked oil feed hole and a dry cam box with a seized broken cam we were amazed.
Revisions to the head were made with modification with a removable oil feed orifice feeding each cam box.
These can be removed for cleaning and changed out on reco, the later larger type have a strainer and will let engines run longer with dirty oil before they blockup.

This would be on the list of the top ten killers of CB750 engines along with broken drive chains busted crankcases and Cam chains, bent valves, and others

I think the ebay sellers name has been changed yesterday. "caveat emptor" the principle that the buyer alone is responsible for checking the quality and suitability of goods before a purchase is made.

Hi John, I Got the original pics out, these are on three pages that were cut from a Jap motorcycle mag from back in the day, it does show a larger pic than what you see and on the second bike on the production line and in two other pics I can clearly see the Brake hose at the master cylinder, it is the short pipe type without rubber boot, hope this answers your question,
in another pic the engine looks to not have a thin lip alt cover when did they finish? Regards Tom

Here are some early factory photos that should put an argument or two to bed
1/ Finned oil filter cover factory installed on Left hand horn Frame.....
2/ Frame and engine marriage, The frame is lifted over engine tipped on its side.
3/ lifting balance point either side of the under tank frame gusset.
Check them out what can you see?
