Links to Auctions and Classifieds / 2-Digit Sandcast in Southern California on CL

Don't see many of these unearthed anymore! Worth every penny to restore. I'm betting he wants $20K if he really knows what he's got...That's what I'd be asking
Up for Sale/Trade is a 1969 Honda CB750 'Sandcast'
As luck would have it, this beauty just fell on my lap. I won't bore you with details but after going over everything I have decided to let her go, based on the fact that I simply do not need nor deserve a bike like this. It either belongs in the garage of an avid bike enthusiast or in a museum... not in my back yard.
Until recently the bike has been garage kept and unregistered since 84. It doesn't kick through but is complete along with original Exhaust (currently sporting the 4 into 1 set up. Pics above). I also have the original receipt from the dealership, along with other misc paperwork. Not to mention an extra custom brown leather seat (Also pictured above).
I am accepting all cash offers and may be open to trade (Preferably Vehicle). The bike is currently with me out in the Mohave Desert near Barstow. I will be taking a lot of trips down for work and for the holidays so showing the bike shouldn't be an issue, not to mention thanks to technology we can also Facetime or Skype =)
Anyhow, if you are interested please just shoot me an Email and we'll go from there. Thanks for your time and consideration!

Has anyone compiled a list of fasteners that need yellow zinc? I've found this info nowhere, and it would be very helpful.

Not Mine:
http://monterey.craigslist.org/mcy/4138618755.html
1969 Honda "Sandcast" CB750 K0, VIN# CB750-1006188, engine# CB750E-1005369, clear California title registered through 06/30/14 with the original California Black and Yellow license plate, only 10,659 original miles. According to the original registration this bike was first sold on 10/15/69 and is registered as a 1970.
I purchased this bike from the original owner's estate in Southern California a few years ago. It had been parked in the family's garage since 1987 when the original owner stopped riding due to health reasons. It then sat in my collection until recently when I had a complete service (receipt available $1,080.96) and tune up done. It's now one of my weekend riders and runs very well.
This piece of Honda History is very complete and original and in excellent original condition for a 44 year old bike. According to the family of the estate, around 1972 the original owner replaced the Honda HM300 exhaust system with the Honda HM341 exhaust and changed the 18" rear wheel to 16". Everything else is stock and original. It is missing one of it's original Honda Sandcast Acorn mirrors.

General Discussion / Which Motor To Use? Price Difference Opinions Please
« on: October 11, 2013, 06:09:09 pm »
My project bike, #4286 came to me with an early K1 motor in the frame, and it's a good motor. I could clean it up on the outside and be done with it. But, I was lucky enough to find an early sandcast motor, #371, which came to me with an unknown internal condition, and a diecast head and cylinders.
My question lies in the value of the finished, restored product. How much less could I expect to fetch for a fully restored mid-number sandcast with a K1 motor vs. a much earlier sandcast motor? I haven't been able to find the correct head and cylinders to rebuild the early motor, and I'd like to finish the project by the spring. I would have thought the K1 motor was a replacement from the '70s, but 4286 was listed on this site with motor 4491.
Any input is appreciated!

Engine Mechanical / Name That Head: K0? Late K0? Early K1?
« on: October 05, 2013, 12:03:24 am »
This one was on a motor with restamped diecast cases with a sandcast #, but kept its sandcast barrels. It has the boss for the dreaded extra bolt, but it's not drilled. On the underside it's marked 'H', like they meant to drill it, but didn't get around to it
Would this head have ever come on a sandcast motor from the factory?

Wheels - Hubs - Spokes - Tires / Water Inside A Rolled Rear Rim
« on: August 19, 2013, 07:46:17 am »
I found a rolled rear rim for my sandcast, but I can hear a small trickle of water inside the rim. It's inbetween the two stamped layers of steel, so can the rim be saved?
Can I drill a small hole on the tire side layer of steel, heat it, and microweld it?
Thanks for any help!

Restoration of 1004286 / Project CB750-1004286
« on: March 09, 2013, 12:07:20 pm »
I found one! It's a mid-number sandcast, and it's been off the road 15 years. Unfortunately it has a K1 motor so I'm on the hunt for a 4xxx sandcast motor, or cases. It's a running bike, and I paid a fair price for it.
I have a great set of 4-cable carbs, a gold/black stripe tank, and a set of stamped HM300's that are on my K6.
I also have a thread over on the SOHC4.net forum: http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=118569.0

(The K6)
Is there a place for project threads on this forum?
Thanks Guys!
