Question here: what e.vin? I remember 22XX? on both CB 750 that sunday late august.
Did not bend over to get a glimpse of frame number.
Both bikes stood side by side in parch fermè.
Noticed both had finned oil filter house!
Ordered one for my one week old CB 750 next day.

In the day a friends Bonneville was faster on acceleration than my CB750!
Well he had to take off silencers and engine was fitted with 1.5 inch cam followers.
Model probabely a couple of years older than this one too.

What about the diameter of 46m carburettor slides?
They seem to be 2/100 mm smaller.
In the day only changed the slides.
Stronger springs were too much for my weak handcuffs.
Never had a sticking slide after that though.
An explanation to what exactly caused a sticking slide I've not heard.
Only happened when warming up engine too enthusiastic on twist grip!
Maybe some heat distortion on carb body before proper and even warm?

Ok just as I remember the world of yesteryear.
No talk of Jap Junk in my memory.
The rev range maybe. Similar to 30 years before!
An old college at work still rode his 1931 New Imperial 500 single. 16 bhp.
A dealer talked him on to a DKW 250 two stroke with 18bhp!
He was unhappy indeed. No bottom end push. More revs were an unknown world to him!
There were cb 250 and 305 on the roads in early sixties.
Friend had an english Quaife 5 speed gear box in his 305.
I just thought they were too small.
There were of cause the Danish 750 Nimbus four cylinder. But 22 bhp?
Boy hood dream was an Ariel square four 1000!
No longer in production when I came off age. And by then know to be fragile!
Massive look of the engine in a 700 cc Royal Enfield Interceptor twin fascinated me too.

When I had my first BMW in '61 the dealer had just sold the first Honda Benly 125.
He claimed it could follow the english twins when they rode to Sweden to watch the Saxtorp Moto Grand prix!
When the 450 came I thought it not to be that much faster than my R69S BMW.
But the first spy photo of a 750 Honda four in an english magazine made me ask for one.
He claimed never to have heard of such a thing.
Took maybe about a year till such a model arrived mid August '69.
The one he pulled out of the shop for me to hear had engine vin 777!
A BMW have same F and E vins, so I did not check the frame.
I could not have that one. He wanted it for himself!
The KO distinction did not appear till the K1 demanded a previous model of a Honda CB 750.

What is understood by "imported"? By Peter Owesen.
That he did not by it through the official appointed Honda dealer?
Did he get it directly from Honda Japan? Or Sweden?

Just stumbled on this story.
Wonder why nobody ever did explain?
Haven't seen Henrik for years.
But in the day he told me government were afraid of reckless driving/riding from the youth on bikes.
There are hardly any paved roads in Greenland!

Is the meaning really like that: only 4 countries receiving SC Hondas?
Canada just got similar models to US!
Have always believed mine was a US model like the other 4 arriving here mid August '69.
A week later I saw a couple more in Sweden.
Rumours will have it there is at least one 4xxx SC in Norway! And done some 600K. km!

Parts Q&A's and Feedback. / Re: Original-looking tires
« on: November 15, 2015, 04:36:34 am »
My Sand Cast front wheel stands with original tyre on.
Dunlop Gold Seal F3.
Was only on for the first couple of month.
Then the Münch 250 mm drum brake from my BMW came on.
Though only 18 inch rim it did not handle any different!
Just touching more frequently the exhaust pipes underneath!
One thing is: there are double mutters on the air valve stem!
Is this common?
Matter of fact, never really spoke to a fellow Sand cast owner.
5 landed here simultaneously. Met 2 of them then just briefly!

I've got the very same: Honda 750 Model CB 750.
Got it with the bike, but it's obviously dated: 70.1.

Memories. I too tried a friends 750 Kawa in the day.
At full acceleration in second the left handlebar rubber slipped off!!!!
Lucily the road was broad enough to accommodate the wobble.
I returned him the bike with a thank you.
He later crashed it in a full speed wobble on the motorway.
