Parts Wanted / Recessed Ignition Switch
« on: October 06, 2020, 05:11:15 pm »
Hi, Looking for a recessed ignition. One of the last parts I need to get my Sandcast as close to correct as I can get. I may have trade material if that helps

I have some parts and I need some parts. Before I go put these up for sale on the open market I thought I would see if I can just trade for parts I need.

I'm trying to make my Sandcast as correct as I can. The big things I need are recessed ignition and a no number exhaust. In that order.  Easy, right?

I have a very nice seat, low foam style.
Blue fork ears, a little rough
Very nice DID front rim, missing a couple spoke nipples
Diecast tank, nice original paint, rusty inside
Emblems
1 into 4 carb cable
Couple sets of carbs, one early maybe sandcast?
Trans cover
Alt cover
Points cover
Mirrors with patten and logos

Just ask if you want more details or pics

Hi All,

A couple years a go I bought a Sandcast with a Diecast parts bike form the widow of a friend. He owned the bike since 1991 and had begun the restoration before he passed. His wife entrusted me, and my money, to finish it. And I did with some help. It turned out great and my buddy's family is impressed and happy to see it finished.

There are a couple of items that are not 'correct' that I would like to fix to get it as close as I can to 'right'. Not sure If this is the place for that thread though?

But either way I have one very nice Sandcast and an almost complete Diecast that I would like to make a rider.

As an outside coming into this group I am very impressed by the knowledge that is shared here. Thank You! I have spent a lot of time reading up on Sandcasts here.
