Title: Brake Pedal Spindle Difference
Post by: kp on March 23, 2020, 10:39:37 pm
The K0 brake pedal spindle/brake rod actuator is unique and somewhat different from the later model type. Other than the obvious "end" difference, the K0 spindle looks to have been machined from bar stock whereas the later one looks to have had minimal machining from a forged/cast blank, and has other subtle differences to the K0. I'm not sure when this part changed but I've seen many of the later type being sold as off K1s, K2s etc, so suspect I'm thinking there change was at introduction or during the K1 production run.
I've posted this topic for clarity for those that didn't know the difference. I know the K0 type but confess, having little knowledge past K0, I didn't know about the later item. Still living and learning  ;)

I have both a very late K1 (1111383), and a very early K2 (2000613) - the K1 has the earlier "K0" type and the K2 the later rounded end type. The change occurred when the brake pedal gained its own height adjustable frame stop, a feature of the "new" K2 model.

Cheers - Chris
