Title: Cam cover markings

Does anyone know what the markings in the cam covers denotes. There is a circle in the casting and some covers have a line through the circle and some have nothing. Are the lines just random or do the mean something regarding years or months of casting.

Not sure, but I think those makings come with die-casting.
