This not mine. On Craigslist Vancouver/Vancouver Island

I emailed him for some more details and this is what he emailed back to me:
The frame #CB750 1000737. The eng number space is blank. The early models had chain issues and when the chain broke it would break the case where the eng number went. These were replaced on warranty and the dealer was supposed to stamp the ser. number when it was replaced. Some were overlooked. However there are casting numbers on the front of the eng case indicating that it was made 22nd Apr. '69
Cheers,
Cliff.

Too bad the engine isn't stamped but for $3000, the frame, 9-hole clutch cover, thin-lipped alternator cover, fenders, guages and some other juicy bits might be enough to make it worthwhile if you didn't want to restore it. It it were closer I think I'd be on it.

Craigslist sandcast CB750 be careful on this one it is not what it appears to be.

What are the issues Marty

I have viewed several pictures of the Vancouver (sandcast) bike. The few items on the bike i would consider to be possible sandcast are the following: tach and speedo, upper and lower triple clamp, side covers, maybe fuel tank, oil tank and some small nickel/dime type hardware. The engine is cosmetically an eye sore (makes Markb's engine #100 look good as he found it). Engine cases look to be replacement sandcast cases (unstamped).
The frame and the rest of the bike looks to be a k2 model. The frame has had the vin ground off, you can barely see numbers where the grinding was done. The clutch cover is a ten hole, switches are later versions, carbs are two cable type.

Ugah Yuk! :o
