Does anyone have a source for quality carb rebuild kits for the K0? Honda just sells the individual parts - I'd like to buy a complete kit if possible. Can anyone review the ones they have used? Thanks.

A diamond in the rough!

Should make for a rewarding project. The further gone they are when you get them, the better they look when they're done!

It's rough, but looks to be pretty complete. Good luck, and post more pics as the resto progresses.

Yes, my bike has the early horn mount, too.

Thanks for the reply. At first, I thought something was missing. But the more I looked, the more I was convinced they were correct.
You referred to a parts list that gives change dates for components. Is this something you made up or is it available somewhere? I have more questions on components on my bike, and the list you refer to may be the answer I've been looking for.

Fuel (gas - petrol) Tanks, Side Covers and Air Box / air box brackets

I noticed that the air box on my K0 #3412 has smaller brackets where it is mounted to the bike's frame. I'm talking about the L-shaped brackets between the top of the air box and the frame. Mine are much smaller than several I have seen pictured on ebay items for sale. Anyone else notice this? Anyone know when they switched to the larger brackets?

Fenders (mudguards) and Seats / Re: ducktail seat
« on: February 17, 2010, 10:17:20 pm »
Thanks for the replies. I now know what to look for. My seat has the original pan, trim and strap, but the foam and cover have been replaced with the later "flat" style. I guess I'll have to decide whether to belly up and buy a replacement set of foam and cover from Japan (and take out a second mortgage) or look for an original. Either way, the help is appreciated.

When did Honda switch from the "ducktail" style seat to the later "flat" style?

What type seat should #3412 have?

Who makes replacement foam and seat covers for the "ducktail" seats?
