Update 05/12/2017

It's been a busy couple of weeks.  A friend and fellow Sandcast owner put me on to a ton of K1-K3 parts and then Sandcast parts in PA.  So my wallet is much lighter now  ;D  and my list of parts wanted is down to an airbox, 9 hole clutch cover and fenders.

Currently I have a number of carb sets and other parts for K1-K3 if anyone wants to swap for what I need or purchase outright.  PM me please with your needs or items on my wish list that you have available.
Thanks!
Brian

Hi, I'm in Victoria, BC, Canada, way out west on Vancouver Island.

I've actually been a member for a while, but I could hardly brag about my original Sandcast   :-[   It was an orphan, with a motor that had suffered a chain break, and the replacement case part with no number stamped on it.  Even worse the chassis had been replaced with a 71, although much of the parts attached to it are Sandcast.  Somehow, when the chassis was replaced, the bike was re-registered in BC using a BC issued VIN, so I don't even have the original chassis VIN that came with this motor, let alone the motor number.   ::)  Did I say Orphan?

In my modest collection I have several copies of every displacement Honda 4 from SOHC 350F to DOHC 900C, including five SOHC 750s K0-3.  I also have some other models, 63 C105, 82 GL500i, 75 GL1000, 82 CBX six, and a 73 850 Norton Commando.  I love my toys  ;D  These bikes all came to me not running, and many in pieces.  I prefer them like that - cheap to buy so my investment is in the safety & reliability I create in rebuilding.  I spent a year just accumulating bits and pieces for my Sandcast while working on other projects.

In March this year I bought 1003245 (on VIN registry) from Florida, which had been re-engined with a 71 #1068645.  The purchase, with associated shipping and US Customs paperwork, was particularly painful with the Canadian dollar at only abut 75 cents USD  :o   But I've got both bikes here now and I'll build one nice one.  For now, I'll make do with non-correct parts to get the bike up and running.  I've posted a list of parts I need on the Parts Wanted page, with some items I can swap.  Of course, if anyone's working on other Hondas 4s, I may have other parts to swap too.

Cheers Everyone!
Brian

Review of VIN'S For Directory / VIN 1003245

FYI

This bike is listed as being owned by James C Yannone and using later model motor #1068645.  I have purchased this bike from a fellow in Florida who purchased the bike from James.  I have a sandcast motor which I purchased from Steve Drane, the retired HD dealer and well known collector in Victoria BC.

The unnumbered motor has had the chaincase repair, and the original motor number was not stamped onto the replacement part.  This motor came to me, mounted in what appears to be a 71 chassis that was somehow registered through BC MV using a BC reg number.  The original chassis VIN has been removed and though the bike is known to have been in Victoria for many years, it's history is sketchy.  Privacy laws prohibit us determining the full story of this bike.

It is my intention to make a modest restoration including installing the Sandcast motor into Chassis 1003245.

For my Sandcast, I need a seatpan and foam, gas and oil tanks, airbox, 9 hole clutch cover, fenders and center stand.

Also want a #1 exhaust without heat shield, for 73 750K 4:4 exhaust in good condition.
Will also consider used OEM 4:4 sets K0-K3.

I have original "28" carbs with cables, "B7" "7A" & "657B" carbs, for swap.
