General Discussion / I.D. plates on steering head - when did they start?
« on: October 27, 2014, 02:47:51 pm »
Hi! Could someone please tell me when the I.D. plates started being mounted on the steering head? I'm just trying to verify a "sandcast" frame that does not currently have a plate. Thanks, Cliff.

Motorcycle's For Sale / Sandcast CB750 on Craigslist Vancouver Island
« on: January 03, 2012, 10:55:17 pm »
This not mine. On Craigslist Vancouver/Vancouver Island
http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/van/mcy/2779922189.html
I emailed him for some more details and this is what he emailed back to me:
The frame #CB750  1000737. The eng number space is blank. The early models had chain issues and when the chain broke it would break the case where the eng number went. These were replaced on warranty and the dealer was supposed to stamp the ser. number when it was replaced. Some were overlooked. However there are casting numbers on the front of the eng case indicating that it was made 22nd Apr. '69
Cheers,
Cliff.

I have a 12/69 K0 and have a couple of the 3 way brake line joints as the parts book calls it. The John Wyatt book shows an early K0 to have a red plastic end where the brake light connection is. I have another joint which does not have the slot for the brake line and the plastic is black. Could someone please let me know which is the correct joint to use. The bike I'm working on was a mess and far from original so I'm questioning most of what was on it.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Cliff.
