Member's Bikes / VIN CB750-1002136 sandcast - Bo-Göran “Bojje” Fredin
« on: February 21, 2016, 12:04:33 pm »
I have received information rom Bo on 2136 located in Sweden. he has asked me to post it along with the pictures as there is a bit of a language barrier as well as technical skills with respect to the BB. I'll do my best to represent what he's saying. Looks like a nice piece of sandcast history!

HONDA CB 750, VIN CB750-1002136,

”sandcast”, 1969

This specific CB750 was bought in USA together with another red one, CB750-1002134, by a private Swedish motorcycle-dealer called “Håby-Sjöberg” in 1969. Both bikes arrived to Sweden at the first week of August 1969 about one month before the Swedish Honda-agent Ahlquists Motor got their firs CB750:s. Ahlquists first bikes had VIN above #3000 so they told Swedish authorities that CB750 above CB750-1003000 was of year 1970 model. Only the two CB 750 #2134 and #2136 were registered in Sweden as 1969 years model.

#2136 was rebuilt to a racer with small differences like racing tyres, smaller handlebar, dismounted rear footrests, dismounted stands, shortened footrests and finally mounted racing numbers 7 at the bike. At the last weekend of August 1969 #2136 was participating in a race, arranged by a Swedish motorcycle magasin called MC-Nytt, at Anderstorp Raceways.

The driver of #2136 was a wellknown swedish roadracer called Bo Granath. Finally he was 5:th totally and first untuned bike. On the pictures 4, 5 and 6 you can see some pictures from the race in 1969.

In 2011 I found #2136 in an advertisement on internet and finally bought the bike. At that time it looked as on pictures 1 and 3.

1/1-2016 the rebuild started and you have a picture 3 a couple of days later during rebuild.

27/1-2016 the bike was rebuilt like it looked at Anderstorp Raceways in 1969 and I transported it to the biggest motorcycle fair in Gothenburg we have in Sweden once a year.

Every second year the fair is in either Gothenburg or Stockholm. The result of the rebuild you can see on pictures 7, 8 and 9.

As you can understand #2136 was one of the two first CB750 in Sweden 1969 and #2136 has had the first racing-history as CB750 in Sweden. For at least Sweden I find #2136 the most exciting CB750.

Owner and restorer of #2136, Bo-Göran “Bojje” Fredin

OK....now I'll sort though the images and attempt to get them in the correct order as I received them in multiple email from Bo. Here's a couple of tease shots of 2136 un-restored....and what it is to be again...Number 7.

Web Site Changes / Sponsors and Donations
« on: February 16, 2016, 08:21:55 pm »
Hello all. It's been a while since I posted. I have been hit with some health issues that have kept me busy to say the least. Hopefully I can turn a corner soon and get back to my old self.

The Canadian dollar has taken quite a hit so any donations towards web server fees and the running of the site are appreciated. The PayPal donate button is at the top of the page. We lost cbb750gauges.com as a paid ad so it's all on us as members.

Much appreciated and hope all is well out there in sandcast land.

General Discussion / PayPal Donations
« on: January 26, 2015, 12:01:09 pm »
When I put the PayPal donations button at the top of the forum I'm 99% sure I tested it and it worked. I gave it a click today and revived an error. I did the code again and it seems to work OK now. If you could give it a test click and see if it takes you through to the PayPal page that would be great. No need to go through with a donation if that's not your intention. This isn't a shameless post asking for donations. Just want to make sure the button is working OK. Let me know if you get an error. Thanks. :)

Web Site Changes / Web Site Changes
« on: January 04, 2015, 03:30:06 pm »
OK, a new year and time to get moving on the site changes. I decided to go with a more simplistic look that is easy on the eyes and easier to read. Most of us are getting to the age where the vision isn't what it used to be.  ;)

Here's a link to the new look. I'm working backwards, these pages are as they will be presented. Once all pages are complete I'll add the new home page to the directory and we will be "live" with a new look. I'm open to adding additional information, images etc. so browse the pages as they are added and let me know. Until I replace the homepage with the new style, the original site will remain intact. I will offer a zipped copy of the old site minus for BB and gallery for those who may want it.

You may have noticed I am trying to sell a few ad spots to offset the costs of running the site. If you know of anyone looking for exposure pass them my email: sandcast750@gmail.com

Also I have added a PayPal Donation button at the top of the board. You can show your appreciation for the SOOC and support future development by giving it a click. Every bit helps.

Have a Happy New Year and may all your sandcast dreams come true!

Web Site Changes / Browser Type - Advertising
« on: November 23, 2014, 09:42:25 pm »
Can members tell me what type of Browser they are using and whether or not they can see the Advertising that I have placed on the forum (near the top) or the Home Page (just under the menu)?

I recently tested things in Internet Explorer 11 and the Ads don't show and there were compatibility issues with the new format. (of course, Micrsoft) ;)

Any feedback is appreciated.
