Title: sandcast on craigslist
Post by: Kevin M on June 06, 2015, 05:18:59 pm
Candy Gold sandcast on Craigslist in Santa Ana, CA.  Seller says it's all original and never restored - with 31K miles.

No mention of the VINs.

i certainly will be the very last to say there is no such thing as a candy gold sandcast, but i will say the production vins do not support a sandcast was issued from assembly line in gold.  i've always believed around vins 18-20k mid january, gold came in to use.

Whilst we have learnt' to keep an open mind, I have to agree with Steve.
Certainly looks to be a sandcast (l/H horn, etc), few bikes can be authenticated to be totally original by the time they reach 46 years old.
My moneys on a paint swap, or repaint, assuming of course the serial numbers check out. Would be inetresting to look in the gas tank  - never seen a factory Gold wrinkle tank.

;) I'm gonna stick my neck on the chopping block aswell
its not a sandcast I'm almost sure the gold came a lot later after Vin # 20 thousands and not before
unless we are talking about the Brighton bike lol
