Title: Rear axle installation

It appears as if the rear axle is inserted from the sprocket side and the nut is on the brake side as shown in the parts break down. I would like to confirm this as the genuine Honda service manual that I have has some pictures with the nut on the brake side and some on the sprocket side.

probably only if one wants their axle position to look like pictures in Honda literature.

I have pictures that show it on either side. I am going to install with the nut on the brake side as shown in the parts break down.

could you share the sources of pictures showing nut on sprocket side ?

These pictures are from a genuine Honda service manual, p/n 623001, printed 1973. Wheek and tire section, page 128 and 129.

CMSNL.com shows the nut on the brake side. Where do they get their parts fiche pics from?
