Title: LH Horn Mount Frame Question
Post by: Steve Swan on February 26, 2010, 07:02:04 pm
Re: LH Horn Mount Frames - vins 1-3949

I have noted my 232 frame has gusseting for a steering damper located on the lower steering head.

I have also noted my 2157 frame does not have this gusseting to accomodate a steering damper. It is clearly evident the frame has never been modified.

Therefore, one could conclude there are two different types of LH horn mount frames.

Does anyone know at what frame vin this gusseting was no longer part of the LH horn mount frame ?

Looking forward to hearing what your pre-3949 frames have for steering damper gusseting or a lack thereof !

Hearing from Allan, Chris and KP, we have learned -

1120 gusseting,

1150 no gusseting,

1256 gusseting,

1683 no gusseting,

Other members, please look at your frames and post on BB.

Hi all fellows! My sandcasts with the gusseting and left mounted horns are #388, #609, #1266. The later ones #3105, #3412 has no gusseting and left mounted horns. The #4357 and #5119 has no gusseting and right mounted horns. At the moment I have all 3 different types as bare frames so I´m gonna compare them thouroughly and find out other differenses.
In the meantime I wanna wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Bo in a cold and snowy Sweden.
