Hey
Has anyone seen this before ?? I just picked up this sandcast and the engine number was a mis stamp on the line and they noticed it and corrected it

In all the time I worked as a Honda mechanic, beginning in 1963, I have never seen this on ANY Honda model. I am surprised this engine was not pulled from the production line and used in one of their schools for training. I have seen various anomolies on engines in the training facilities but never a serial number correction.

Fellas, Have a look in the registry at VIN 926. There was a picture sent of this alteration and I'm sure we have the picture of this somewhere. So this makes Kevin's find the second one we have. I have also seen pictures of a frame with the same alteration. Remember, at that time Honda couldn't keep up with demand so an error in the stampings was probably not a big deal give a re-stamp is all that was needed. Interesting stuff can be found on this site. I found that picture
