Well, I finally own a real double cut fender....I know, real exciting huh?? BUT part of this hobby is the treasure hunt. I bought this on ebay and I was a little skeptical because the fender strut had been modified. But I just opened the box and so far I am happy because the fender itself is a real double cut as far as I can tell (the inside folds do not come all the way to the end, and the front is longer than a fakie), and the strut can be returned to stock and the fender looks totally fixable/restorable to me. I believe my chrome/resto shop can make this fender look as new without too much trouble.
One piece at a time...my sandies get more and more correct....
here is the ebay link:

Any comments or feedback welcome, I want this fender to be correct when I am done....I know the little welded on loop for the front brake line does not belong.

So now that I have had a chance to look at this more, I see the support strut is from a later year and even the early 70's struts still have the little support wire welded to the strut. Anybody know which years I will need, I am guessing just the K0 will work?? Now I just need a real beater K0 fender for cheap so I can salvage the support strut. Either flea bay or Bob's in Phoenix unless someone out there has one they want to sell?
Then I just need 4 solid rivets, I don't want to use pop rivets like what is in there. Worst case, I can make those on my lathe. Anybody know a good source for these rivets?

Found, but in inch size.
Anyone knows the original size in inch of the fender rivets?

Hey Matt, Sorry to say I was the #2 bidder. That was a good find for you and will clean up well. I did see the odd fittings, but agree, it was a real double cut
