Title: Looking for tools to complete my kit
Post by: Wayne on March 01, 2011, 11:25:30 am
My tool kit is incomplete and I would like to locate the remaining tools. If anyone has incomplete sets that would help complete mine, I'm interested. What I have is shown in the pic. The PO owner is searching through his toolbox and junk drawers but it's not looking good. I may have been the one who lost them or pounded them into oblivion when I worked for him when I was young and wreckless!  :'(  Thanks!  :)

Wayne, the tools you picture are the tools you need ?  If so, you have the 6 most difficult to find tools, so that is very good.

Let me go through my spare Honda tools tonight and i'll get back to you.

Wayne, i have the 2 different size Phillips screw driver shanks.

Have a black screw driver handle.  Of course, red handle is correct.

Also have a fairly decent black foam padded tool pouch with snap closure; it's brittle though.  And does not have the little pocket in back to hold feeler gauges.

Let me know if you want any of this, happy to share.

Yes, what I have pictured is what I have Steve. I found a kit on ebay but I'm a bit hesitant about spending a couple of hundred on tools at this point. I can put the money to better use with the build right now. I was hoping to find the parts that need to be plated so I could send them out with the rest of my stuff. (I'm assuming tools get re-plated??) Certainly, if you have anything to spare it would be appreciated. Don't leave yourself short for the future though.

Wayne, i found a straight blade shank also.  No prob, they'll go to good use for your kit.  The tools are zinc plated.  Keep an eye on ebay, under CB175/350/450, you'll find the rest of what you need.

Steve's right. I needed to get some tools to complete a few sets and I came up with this lot in the last month and for under $75, so there's some easy finds to be had out there. Certainly look outside the box (or bag  ;D) and they will turn up

The real find for me was this lot.  :o It has everything a sandcast owner could need and still with sticky labels Bliss  :P

Nice score on that last one.  It seems like the tough piece to find is the points file.  I might have to buy a whole kit to get one.

One kit i bought on ebay had an original file.

When i needed another complete kit, I can't remember where i found the other files i needed, but they can be found in automotive stores or tool dealers.  While the replacements are not exacly like original, they are so close to original, i was happy to have a completed kit.
