Title: 2 dimple tank?
Post by: jkp2240 on September 08, 2011, 04:14:05 pm
I have a tank, 2 dimples and am wondering is this what you call a mid run 2 dimple tank, as mentioned under the tank resource information?

I'm certainly no expert on this feature but it appears that there are partial dimples on the large radii near the tunnel.  I've looked close at some wrinkle tanks and the "middle" dimples don't seem quite as pronounced as the outer ones and don't show as a complete circle.  If it is a 2-dimple tank I think it would be rare indeed.  Do you know what VIN it came from?

The bike was VIN 3042 so would be mid run? But I can not say if that was the tank the bike was built with, but does look to be original paint.
ALSO, this tank does not have wrinkles as seen when you lift the filler cap, Do all on none 4 dimple tanks have this or is wrinkle only on a 19 litre tank?
