Weird.  He does acknowledge the the MADE IN JAPAN is missing.  Why would someone make a fake one and eliminate that?  I see it didn't sell because it is "no longer available".  Maybe he pulled it after he got your email KP.

Why would someone/anyone go to the trouble of making a fake alternator cover ?  Seems more trouble than it wold be worth.  I could understand if it were a think lip.  But this cover is the last type with the double thick lip...  Doesn't make sense to me.  But, then, alot of things don't make sense to me.

I thought these were 'pattern' replacement covers back in the day (like pattern handlebar switches that pop up from time to time).  I have seen several on ebay without the made in japan casting.  I dont think they are modern reproductions.  or is this somehow different to the pattern ones I have seen?

The guy might have thought he had hit the jackpot as it is different to the genuine part.  I think the reason he pulled it might be because he made the realisation that it isnt of honda origin after KPs email, or he would have aggresively defended his point ;)

Or someone offered him a small fortune to buy it now thinking it was as described ;)

regards,
Steven.
