Title: Swingarm
Post by: bojje on March 28, 2018, 02:07:20 pm
Hi!
It is very interesting with an early bike like #24/43. There are odd things with it all the time. Today when I was adjusting the drive chain I found Another thing. Look at the marks at the swingarm and you will find on this bike the signs/marks are punched in the swingarm instead of higher/relief as all other bikes I have (incl #180, #388, and higher VIN:s)
Looking forward to comments if anyone else has seen it Before. Perhaps Kerrys #28/132 has the same kind of marks.
Bo

Oh yes... :o :o there, the adjustment lines are drawn by digging the metal and after they made them in relief on the metal...  It's very interesting Bo  :) ;)

Thank you Bo, for sharing a remarkable distinction!  Please keep them coming.  frame 232 has raised markings.  i wonder if the swing arms on these very early vins are same as late pre-production bikes.  perhaps Mark will see your thread and tell us what he finds on swing arm of his frame 97.

I don't recall seeing that. Seems like I would have noticed. I will try to remember to check this weekend.

Mark :) I found photos in the restoration of your 97 and apparently yours is not like that...

Hi!
Thank you for your answer about #18/12. I’ve seen the VIN in registry but since there is no mame I didn’t know it exists. Happy to hear you have one of the real old ones. Is it a bike for use or do you restore it? Would be nice to see a picture of it.
Would be interesting to hear at what VIN the ”relief” marks starts.
Best regards, Bo
