Title: Re-Keying the Steering Head Lock
Post by: Joe K on February 19, 2010, 07:26:24 pm
Hello,

Does anyone know if it is possible to re-key the steering head lock under the triple tree? Do I need to purchase an old Honda key to do this?

Thank you,
Joe

I have a heap of genuine Honda ignition keys, several thousand in fact, but NOT plug type I'm afraid, so if you read the number off the face of the lock and let me know, I'll see if I have one to fit. Yes, I know you'll need a torch, magnifying glass and triple jointed neck unless of course the stem is out of the frame.

Hi Joe,
I do have that key number, genuine Honda CB750 type, but NOT plug type.

Chris,

Can I purchase the key from you? If so, will a locksmith or Honda dealership be able to make the re-key it for me?

Plug-type? I don't think it is necessary that I have a plug type. I just want to be able to lock the steering stem. You can contact me at: jkulick@yahoo.com

Thank you,
Joe
