I was excited to see info on FB and the SOHC forums news  about Vic Worlds CB750 1968 prototype restoration.
So I though I would visit here as that would always have been my first port of call for info and informative discussion on anything as exciting as this.
but nothing posted from what I can see.

Anyway maybe this is the start of a discussion hopefully and a massive thanks to the chaps on here who started this all off. This site has been a massive source of valuable information on the early CB750 for me and long may it remain.  I suspect that a lot of the info taken from this site is regurgitated on the likes of FB ect.

Bit of sleuthing reveals that this Sandcast is the one I put DS onto and he bought at a bargain price at Mecum for his new at the time museum. I still can't understand why he sold this one before it ever got in his museum. OK he bought VIN 750 and it's an earlier model but this one was already museum quality ...it just needed the seat sorting out at the time. Interesting to see what it makes. He now has a Vic World restored one and the VIN 750 one was for sale at Unit 1 near to him, for some staggering amount, the last time a saw it.

General Discussion / Photo of Lord Denbigh on Gold Brighton PP Bike .. BBC TV 'Wheelbase'Feb. 1969 ?

I reckon this picture attached is from an  edition of the  BBC TV Programme  'Wheelbase' (a forerunner to 'Top Gear' ) broadcast on 28th February 1969  Lord Denbigh the 1st owner of CGU 7H  was on the programme and I believe Alf Briggs of Honda UK was possibly riding the bike too.

I keep meaning to contact the BBC to see if a video copy still exists. I doubt it but worth a shot. That programme series was one of the first to be transmitted in colour .  

Note that is still has the rectangular rear lamp and high bars fitted ... Lord D obviously can't have been the owner at that time as he had it changed to low bars and the bike was fitted with the UK style oval rear lamp to comply with UK regulations. I understand that  Alf Briggs (then based at UK Honda's Service Department in Nottingham) took the bike to Lord D's country estate for the filming of the TV programme.

Someone posted the pp pic on UK SOHC website.

pp bike pic was taken in France, outside at the 'reveal' of the CB750

UK diecast was taken at a King Crimson concert in 1970 (for all of you prog rock fans out there).
The bike belonged to the their record agent John Gaydon and was taken at a concert in Hyde Park UK. The lady sitting on it is Mark Bolan's wife June Child(Feld)

Front End and Suspension / Yamiya Fork Stanchions

Anyone used Yamiya early CB750 fork stanchions ? I fitted mine but noticed the bottom piston and valve ring was a sloppy fit on the stanchions.

The attached pic  is what I found when I measured them.

I am going to take this up with Yamiya but they are hard to get a reply from as far as I know plus  I bought them a couple of years ago via Saisei in the UK but only got round to using them recently.

Gauges - Levers and Cables / Tachometer gear removal.

Anyone know how the steel gear on the main shaft of the Tachometer (i.e. shaft which which rotates the circular magnet) can be removed from the shaft. Is it a press fit  or is it secured by another method.

Has anyone ever noticed or commented on the strange 'Kill' switch knob in the CB750 Shop Manual? The model photographed must have been a a p.p. bike because I noticed it has a rigid brake pipe.

I recently acquired these two carbs. I have no idea which model bike  they came off but one float is hand marked CB750 and their origin is possibly Honda UK's development dept. I know that the CB77 Super Hawk also used 26mm carbs but I can't think of another 60's Honda that used 26mm as my CB450K0 has vacuum carbs. The bodies/bowls have been lacquered silver. They were sold to me as 'came off an early CB750'

Parts For Sale / CR750 /CYB350 Camchains

Have a couple of Honda Racing -971 part camchains in sealed Honda bags with label, a couple of -971's in  Honda packing but open and no label (from bulk pack I believe RK), a couple of -970 parts (dogbone shape). VERY old NOS but perfect parts.

Already sorted with Nap on here   ;) ...In post to you tomorrow Nap

Engine Electrical / Yamiya selling brown connector shell for wiring harness

Yamiya are  selling brown connector shell for wiring harness (ignition switch connector). Does anyone know a source of the mating connector fitted to the ignition switch in brown ? Yazaki make similar connectors in white plastic but I have never found a source of brown ones. The same connector is used on the early CB350K twins,possibly others.

Fuel (gas - petrol) Tanks, Side Covers and Air Box / Yamiya CB750 Carb kits

Has anyone used these 750 carb kits from Yamiya in Japan. They say they have sold 2,500 kits so I guess they are OK. We need them for a '69 Diecast. They come with 3 different sized of main jet.
