HELLO!! I'LL THROW AN IDEA OUT THERE ABOUT THE DIFFERENT COLOR DOTS ON THE ENGINE CASES. HOW ABOUT ONE COLOR DESIGNATING A PROBLEM WITH THAT PARTICULAR ENGINE, THE OTHER COLOR DESIGNATING THE REQUIRED REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. COMMENTS??

I'VE USED 'SKIN SO SOFT' ON THE BLACK PLASTIC PIECES ON MY CBX, THE SWITCH BODIES AND THE TURN SIGNAL BACKS. AN APPLICATION EVERY OTHER DAY FOR A WEEK MAKES THEM LOOK ALMOST NEW AND LASTS FOR A COUPLE MONTHS.

I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE WITH YOU 100% STEVE, BUT TO MAKE IT OUT OF FIBERGLASS?? I'VE BEEN IN BUSINESS WITH AND WORKED AT BIKE SHOPS FOR 45 YEARS, JUST THE FACT THEY USED FIBERGLASS INSTEAD OF KNOCKING THEM OUT IN PLASTIC BLEW ME AWAY THEN, AND STILL NOW!

DID ANYBODY ELSE NOTICE WHAT LOOKS LIKE A NEW FIBERGLASS CHAINGUARD?? WHEN I FIRST FOUND MY SANDCAST (IN 1992!!), I ORDERED ALL THE NOS PARTS I COULD GET. THE CHAINGUARD I RECEIVED WAS MADE OF FIBERGLASS!! I COULDN'T EXPLAIN THAT AT THE TIME, AND STILL CAN'T NOW! ANY IDEAS??

Just because the tank has the key-operated cap lock doesn't mean it was bought new in 1975. Back in the late '70's early '80's I worked at the local dealer in the service department and remember the recall requiring us to replace 100's of the 'dangerous' tank latches with the lockable ones. Wish I had just a handful of the old latches!!
