Links to Auctions and Classifieds / Rolled edge rim on SL350's
« on: June 26, 2016, 09:12:21 am »
I knew I wasn't crazy.  I was picking a junk yard years back and stumbled on a Honda 450 with a rolled edge rim on the back.  It had wheel weight holes in it and I wasn't sure enough of the exact dimensions I would be looking for so I left it and went inside to pick the shelf bins.

Scouring e-bay this morning I found this auction.  Sure enough it's a rolled edge rim with wheel weights.  The seller thinks it's a 19" wheel and I'm assuming he's right.  Perhaps another model had the correct 18" wheel on it?  Sure would be nice to find such a unicorn even if one had to weld up the wheel weight holes to make it work.

I'm sure some of us have seen this one and spotted it as a fake.

Just wanted to make sure none of us gets trigger happy and bids before you look closely though.

Parts Wanted / Seat strap screw or screws
« on: October 24, 2015, 08:24:23 am »
looking for a seat strap screw that is restorable.  Chrome doesn't have to look nice but I do expect the screw socket to be very close to original, not cammed out by screwdrivers.  Would also like the back threaded side to be lightly weathered rather than rust pitted or broken.

Not interested in the #4 screw head from Yamiya...  The #2 small screw head is what I'm looking for.  If you have two and the strap brackets as well I'd be interested but I really only need one screw.

christopher_noel92@hotmail.com  is my e-mail.  I no longer use the old college e-mail through the site.

I have a gold air box, an NOS repop Honda mirror, an original mirror, damaged, good for parts and a few other bits that I'd be very reasonable on if you have a something for me.

I'm dumb founded as to how this guy even got these cases apart but they are early so here you go.

Normally I'd watch  an auction that starts this low and try to pick it for myself but this one is beyond my skills.  Looks like they were under water or at least exposed to lots of the elements.

Links to Auctions and Classifieds / Original side covers?
« on: October 01, 2013, 07:41:30 am »
Do these look original under the rattle can paint to you?  Look like they are to me and have never had louver screens installed.  I'm in money recovery mode or I'd snap them up my self.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Honda-CB750-69-70-Left-Side-Cover-Remake-/400581946044?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5d448b6abc&vxp=mtr

Links to Auctions and Classifieds / Parting out very early vin
« on: September 22, 2013, 05:40:13 pm »
Here's a man that isn't scared to run a real auction!  He's parting out a very early vin sandcast and starting everything at a penny.  I threw down a $50.00 bid on this auction but I know someone will pay much more for this holly grail.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/231060306624?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

Anyways, I'm serious about the thumb button for the gas cap if any of you would consider going lite on me with that one.

I actually have two steering lock and ignition sets.  One I'd value at $250.00 and the other is among the nicest I've seen for a long time that I'd value at $400.00 or more.

I need a Yamiya seat cover and red foam from Yamiya as well.  Also need and NOS left badge for the side cover, nice dull finish heat shields and or handlebar controls.

The prices I'm quoting are very reasonable so I'd expect you to be too.  I'm bringing up the trade thing so I assume I'll have to eat a little on the value but lets not get crazy.

If you want to buy outright I'm inclined to let the cheaper ignition go rather than the nicer.  The third best ignition I've ever had isn't going to just walk out of my hands for nothing tangible.

Just getting into my gauges and figured I'd share a little of what I've discovered.  The housings, lenses and face plates available from the link on this site are very nice... Worth every penny and then some.
If you can get hold of some shrink that works on the ignition wires it will also work on the instrument wires as well as the control wires.  I can get some if you need.  Mine is a little more sturdy than original but it looks the part and is glossy.
Needed new needles in my gauges so I went to the junk yard for later ones as they look the same up to 1976.  They are not the same.  The sandcast ones have a little shorter pivot point round tube, are more narrow at the pin they ride on and they appear to be made better.  I was able to repair my original bent one with one of the junk yard needles.

Parts For Sale / Scratch and dent Yamiya pipes.
« on: June 14, 2013, 07:36:16 am »
Looks like motorcycle Yamiya is having a scratch and dent sale on some pipes.  Kind of vague on the description but looks like he's selling a number one and a number four for around $116.00 each.  might be a nice set to send along with your number two and three originals for restoration?

Just figured I'd link this sale incase someone here doesn't get his e-mails plus he rarely has deals like this.

Have Recessed ignition T6645 the matching steering lock and a T6645 key that works but isn't from this set originally.  the lock has some pitting that will be evident after it is installed.  Functions very nicely and was not taken apart, just flushed, blown out and lubed.  The plug tail has new glossy black shrink on it.  $250.00 plus shipping.

I also have a bracket K0 bracket that I have included a number 8 bolt with for $30.00 plus shipping.  This is a large #8 like on the triple tree not the smaller blocky style that I've seen on most ignition brackets.

Scammers and Forgeries / second attempt at a rip off
« on: March 06, 2013, 08:14:19 pm »
Second time these have been listed and I'm thinking the seller knows better.  Probably pulled them from an early 70's 360 twin.   Frequent flyer on the scamers thread?  You be the judge.

Gauges - Levers and Cables / K0 mirrors
« on: August 12, 2012, 06:09:10 pm »
Getting ready to make another large purchase from Yamiya next month but I'm not sure I want the mirrors that are available.  I've seen, on sandcast's, mirrors that have PAT. 536635 on them but Yamiya's do not.  I do want to go new but I'd sure like to know if the missing PAT # is a dead give away first.
