General Discussion / Original service tools
« on: January 30, 2014, 02:36:27 pm »
I didnīt know this tools was available until I searched at Davidsilverspares in the UK. The partno are found in the beginning of the old shop manual. Several other tools are also available. It took them a couple of month to deliver this, but I finally got them today!
I guess you have your own tricks to compress the piston rings, but its kind of nice to be able to use the original equipment. Original service tools is somewhat like filling the bikes tool bag with correct tools.
The partno is 07954-3000000 (original no 07032-30001) you could search both at David silver.
They came as a pair of pliers and feels good with really strong springs.

I will try these when i start to reassemble E #7384 soon.

General Discussion / Early early Sandcast?
« on: December 22, 2013, 06:37:12 am »
Hi,
Found this is on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/CB750-K0-1969-/291042429048?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43c37b0878&vxp=mtr

Take a look at the engine covers on left side. It looks like the pre-production bikes. Compare for example on our own site:

Of course it also could be some aftermarket product that I donīt know about, otherwise it is ultra rare. Looking forward to hear your opinions.

Member's Bikes / My first Sandy
« on: October 07, 2012, 11:40:11 am »
Hi, This summer I finished the first part of ground up restoration of my Sandcast 1005084 (engine 1004957). Most parts are correct except for the biggest fault, it is an early diecast engine. The sandcast engine is still in my garage and needs som serious welding due to the common chain brake problem, otherwise I have all the engine parts. The gauges and the seat will be changed to next summer, otherwise it is quite correct. Itīs running very well and looks good.

I have already started my next Sandy project -1005321. I have a good Sandcast engine to that frame but not the original, itīs one of the latest (1007384) and the rebuilding of that one has already started.

Hi from Sweden,

Scammers and Forgeries / Brake calipers on Ebay
« on: July 24, 2012, 01:40:06 am »
Hi, What about this and two other Sandcast Calipers from this seller
http://www.ebay.com/itm/CB750-1969-70-SANDCAST-2965-FRONT-CALIPER-BRAKE-CAFE-RACER-GENUINE-AUTHENTIC-A-/230774159813?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item35bb3639c5#ht_500wt_715
Iīm not sure if there is Tokico without numbers (looks like all are sandblasted) and the frame number picture also looks suspicious. He is referring to three separate sandcasts which he is "parting out". Also take a look at the "recessed" igniton
