I bought my first Sandcast used from a Florida dealer in 1970. I traded in my 1969 CL 450. I was 19 yrs old and owned the bike for 18 months or so.
I never remember changing the oil.  Young and clueless.

I bought a new 1972 CB750 in the fall of 1971  and drove it for 21,000 miles. I changed the oil and filter every 3000 miles.
 I used Castrol 20-50 Dino oil. I never had an issue with the bike at all.

I read some posts from the past that said Synthetic oil is no good for these bikes. I was thinking newer is better and changed from Dino oil to Synthetic @ 1000 miles.

Lucky I have only put a little over 100 miles on the Vic World with the synth.
I have not noticed any clutch slipping or oil leaks but plan on getting some of the Kendall GT as mentioned in the thread.
I don't know if I should change the oil  then drive it for 50 miles or so then change it again, just to make sure all of the synth is out.
What do you think?

Steve and the rest of the experts.
 I have a fall of 2008 Vic World restoration with 1150 miles on it. I may or may not need to sell it. I am looking for help to get a estimate of what I should ask for it.
 
I have been able to avoid selling it in the past and hope to keep it but I need to pay some bills.
Any help with honest advise I would appreciate.

Serial number of frame is 6750
.
Date of Manufacture is 9/69

I would have to check engine SN but it is close as it is a Vic World Resto.

First off I am not a rich collector. I have worked for one company for 29 yrs. I started there @ $11,500 a year in 1978. With inflation my salary today is worth about the same. I sold a lot of things to buy this bike.
It was 1970 and I took my 1969 CL450 to the local Honda dealer looking for something new. He suggested I test ride a used CB750 he took in on trade. One ride was all it took. The effortless smooth power pulled like a freight train. Each gear I shifted felt stronger than the last one. I rode that 69' 750 all over Florida that year.
I got a call from my ex-girlfriend in NJ in Sept and she said she wanted to see me again. I had moved to FL because we broke up and I wanted to start new. I strapped a pack to the fender of my sandcast and took off from Pompano beach Fla headed for NJ. I had to take RT 301 most of the way because I-95 wasn't there yet. What a ride it was! I held that bike @100MPH whenever I thought I could get away with it, those beautiful blue green gauges staring back out at me in the night. 28 Hours later non-stop, except to pee and for Gas I arrived.
My girl said I needed a car and bike had to go. I traded it in for a stupid OPEL cadet. Girl dumped me again and I lost my bike too. Fast forward
35 yrs. I got the girl back. Now I wanted my Sandcast back too. I read about Vic World and contacted him. We made a deal and he built the bike. Me and the girl broke up again this October.
I still have my Sandcast and I won't let her go this time around for no one.
---Got the bike---got the girl---lost the bike--lost the girl---got the girl--got the bike--lost the girl--still got the bike.

I picked up my sandcast at forward air and made the 54 mile ride home. What A sound!!! I had forgotten how beautifull my 1969 sounded over the years. I didn't bring her over 5 grand on the way home. It was cold but I couldn't feel anything but the goose bumps from the bike. More reports later. I only have one bad picture but I promise more to come.

I am excited. I just received my VIN and engine SN# of my sandcast that Vic is building for me.

Delivery date is on or before NOV1 2008.
WOW. This is going to be a long six months!

Hi,
I am a new member. I traded in a 1968 CL450 for a used Blue Green CB750 in 1970. The Bike was a 1969. I sold the bike 1 year later after enjoying over 4,000 miles of riding. (missed it so much that I ended up buying a new 1971 750 but it never had the same MOJO)
The color of my 1969 looked different than the pictures I see of the Candy Blue Green Bikes. It had more of a green look to it rather than the Blue color in most of the pictures I see on the web. I found one picture that resembles my bike. I am including the link to that picture.

Is it possible that the early sandcasts had more green in the paint or is my memory just failing me from 38 years ago?

Vic World is building my sandcast as I write this. It will take about 24 weeks to complete. He said there is no rush on the color selection.
If the early bikes really did have the "Jade type color" , I would prefer if he could duplicate my original 1969.

Anyway, I won't be a full fledge member till about Oct. I love this website and I would like to thank you for the effort it took to create and maintain it.
