Paint - Badges and Component Refinishing / Re: Frame paint for my 1970 ko?

Thanks guys, cleaning up the smaller bits, I forgot about the horn bracket::) I took this completely apart 10 yrs ago & dug out a pan of  black parts  that  got messed up sitting! I just ordered an ultrasonic cleaner to try & might try a homemade plating for the hardware? I read somebody did it…I think Terry from Australia iirc was very successful:) aI have an old plastic cooler & a battery charger! :)

I agree with KP. Though I dont know your plans for the bike, you will get the most value and the most protection with proper paint.

Personally I would have it professionally painted including all black components such as battery and tool boxes, pegs, stands, bottom tree, horn bracket, brake light bracket and swing arm. Top triple tree in satin/semi gloss.

I’m not a painter so I’ll probably have to use rattle cans for frame, swing arm center & kick stands & then I also have the triple trees. Wondering the consensus, Thanks
I did clean up & sanded with 003 steel wool.

A few wet days led to some shop time. Determined to do more riding than work, this summer. Buttoned up the top end. After this photo, rockers went in, valve clearances set.

Hi all, reviving an old thread here but figured it best to put it in the main thread about harness restoration.
Im cleaning up some old harnesses and wanted to know what chemical (if any) were used in the ultrasonic cleaner to clean the clear connector covers?  I will likely start with dish soap and have seen mention of bleach being used to remove the yellowing.  But Im reluctant to use bleach as it may help harden the plastic.
Thanks, Steven.

French Sandcasts / A French Sandcast in series 15000 !
« Last post by 4pots1969 on April 25, 2023, 01:48:37 pm »
Hello for all,
I have just discovered that there were also 15000 series, this is the first French Sandcast discovered in the 15000 series, this is the engine number E-1015525.
We knew that there were 14000 and 17000 series but to discover that there were also 15000 series is really exceptional!
this engine was used in competition, and this explains why the crankshaft was cut and you will also notice that it has its famous 9/10 clutch cover with the tenth hole not drilled like the 14000 and 17000 series, and let's not forget that E-1007414 also had this same cover 9/10 !

Hello for all,
I don't know if this topic has been discussed before on the forum?  The French air box have the particularity of having been equipped with a cover identical to that  on the front, on the other hand I do not know if it is only for the French market or for other countries in Europe or in Japan...
