Something I noticed a while back. My solonoid wire has a gray cover. Didn't think much of it as many parts on these old bikes seemed to be either mix and matched over the years or even from the factory. I'm now thinking that many sandcasts had this gray cover over the solonoid wire because when ever I see one for sale that has obviously come from an early cb750 it is gray. These solonoids can be taken appart and I intend to get a new one and rebuild it with the original gray cover from mine. Just thought I'd share.
