There are not many bikes on a sand cast that have yellow passivate finish.

My dear Mr. McGovern....   "bikes" on a sandcast..... ;D  what are you dipping into ?  heh, heh

if i recall correctly, the crank case and oil tank drain plugs are yellow zinc.  and spoke nipples. and mounting plates inside airbox and the hex hardware inside the airbox; if i recall correctly.  seems like there might be a couple more parts, but i cannot remember any other yellow zinc parts at this moment.....
Yeah It's the bloody auto correct that does it Should read bolts ;D

Steve's pretty well got it nailed. I've never been sure about the horseshoe shaped bracket on the centre stand as these are a common part across a lot of Honda models and some have yellow passionate and some don't

seems like later model Honda's had more yellow than earlier models.  i'm not remembering the horseshoe shaped fulcrum sort of plate that attachews spring to center stand being yellow on sandcast.

I have some NOS oil tank mounting bolts (the 3 "shoulder" type bolts) which are yellow passivate finish. Just can't be certain that the original sandcast factory fitted ones were the same.

The oil tank bolts are yellow passivate finish, but a very light yellow, i noticed it when i removed it from the place.
The Stanley headlight rim is also yellow passivate finish.
Could we create a list with all the yellow zinced finish parts?

My bikes have silver (white) zinc. There are not many bikes on a sand cast that have yellow passivate finish.

Thanks KP.

All sandcasts have white zinced washer (washer, tank collar lock) part 90504-700-000 (white zinced) or some have 90514-700-000 (yellow zinced) ?

My parts list 69.4 shows only 90504-700-000 (white zinced).

My parts list for Honda cb750 - K1 - K2 shows only 90514-700-000 (yellow zinced) for all cb750 until K2.

Why yamiya sells the yellow zinced and a chrome washer, not white zinced ?

Thanks.

congratulation for your sandcast
nice job

i'm surprised regarding the helmet holder bracket  on your frame
normaly on a sandcast you should not have this bracket

Do you know why do you have it?

maybe the rear frame has been changed???

Thank to let me know what do you think

Benji

Dear Benji;

Such an obvious thing that escape me. Thank you very very much. I searched and founded a weld on the right side of the rear part but have not found the same weld on the left side. Also found strange the fact that the helmet holder in sandcast is very bad welded, unlike my other CB750.

Other comments from inconsistences are very welcome and this is the goal i posted my bike up close.

I will immediately remove the holder and arrange the weld on the right side, fortunately my frame is painted.

Thanks.

Marcello

Likely those helmet holders were welded on by a previous owner.
The weld around the right frame tube is probably due to the frame having broken there, caused by the fitment on an overloaded luggage carrier sometime in the past. It was not uncommon for the back of the frame to break in this way between the end of the rear shock mounting gussets and rear seat loop. On late K0's and onwards Honda extended the rear shock gusset so that it ran further back and strengthened the frame in this region.
I had an early UK die cast bike some years ago which had been welded both sides, and still had a HUGE topbox on its carrier.

Cheers - Chris R.

Dear Chris;

It is a very plausible teory. Strange also the fact that the shape of the holders are diferente.

Thanks.
