disc distinctions

has anyone done comparisons of discs used on sandcasts in contrast to later non-sandcasts ?  i know there are differences between 300 series discs.  and there is also a 341 series disc.    i remember mentally noting some differences, unfortunately, i did not write them down.

Mark has asked me to send Pictures of 300 disc and 341 disc for him to compare. In the attachments you can see a refurbished 300 disc and a normal used nonrefurbished 341 disc. Since I do not find how to attach Pictures in an answer to him direct I choose this way instead. If there are any differences between 300 discs someone else has to tell.

thanks for the pictures Bo!  and giving life to this old thread !  seeing your pics of the "flats" where rivet heads are on the 341 disc brought back my memory seeing such.  at the time i started that thread, i did not have discs to make the comparisons with.  Again, thank you!
