Hi Can anyone tell me at what period did Honda introduce the strengthening bar to the side stand.
On the sandcast types info it gives the following details but no explanation how the two part numbers differ
Serial number1-2380 part number 50530-294-000
Serial number 2381-7414 part number 50530-300-000
Thank you Garry :)

I don't think that style was used on any sandcast.  None of mine had it.  In fact I don't think I've ever seen one like that.

Hi Mark as you can see the photo it is from CMS site.I have not seen this type before either
But what I wanted to know is the difference between the two parts numbers 294 and the 300 , if there is any difference.

The side stand in the picture was used on the CB750 K3 and K4 on the domestic models used in Japan. I owned both a K3 and K4 both from new while i lived in Japan. To my knowledge the side stand in the picture was never used prior to the CB750 K3. Marty K.

Honda code 294 is for the Honda CL450 K1 and K2. The Honda code 300 is for the Honda CB750 sandcast K0 and K1. I have compaired both side stands from both bikes i have CL450 K1 and CB750 sandcast there looks to be no difference between the two. Honda used many parts from other models if they served the same purpose and worked as advertised to get a product out the door. Marty K.

The bracket/strengthening bar was added more for ease of locating the side stand in the up position when trying to put the side stand down. Marty K.
