;) hi guys just a quick question to all you old notables  on the forum
a very long time ago i bought polished engine covers of a guy from good old USA
anyway i used the clutch cover recently as a bolt had come out of the clutch springs and worn a grove on the inside of the cover
i always knew there was something strange about it but only noticed it today, there is no lip on the cover it is a ten hole clutch cover
any ideas what model it is off i have four other k0's and they have lips on the clutch covers strange or what :-\

Distinction # 83.
83. Early clutch cover have thin lip in “10th hole” area, later covers have thick lip. Thin lip known up to 1106, thick lip after 1107

im not sure if you will see attachment
on closer inspection it could well be that the lip has been polished off and there is indent between screw holes?

Hey Pete,
Haven't heard from you for a while. Thought you may have got lost  ;)

Hi kerry, i lost interest in bikes and was selling up all my bikes to get myself out the shit financially but lucky enough i managed to stop myself selling the k0 and sandcast, but i have to say it came close , i had buyers lined up for both, anyway i am trying to get back to where i last left off, as you might remember my sandcast was little more than a frame and crankcases so i still have plenty to do, i now realise that these are long term projects and there is no point in rushing them so i will chip away at both bikes and eventually i will reap the rewards,
i will update my threads as i go
pete

What exactly is meant by “thin lip”. Is it the smal lip around the cover (small cycle) or is it the whole area (big cycle) whee the 10. Hole is in later covers?

Does anybody has a pic of a thick lip cover?

Here is mine from engine No, 2005

Here is another cover that looks completely different in both areas.

Not sure, if that is a correct sandcast cover.

Last picture is of a "thick lip" clutch cover whereas picture in post before was a "thin lip" one. Both are correct for sandcasts. Thin lip first, at least to VIN 2005 it appears, then thick lip (#5298 has thick lip type).

That part in the bigger cycle, shouldn’t it be slimmer as well or did later covers look like this?
