OK Fellas,
FIRSTLY, wAYNE CAN YOU SEND THIS TO EVERY SANDCAST BOARD MEMBER PLEASE AS i DON'T KNOW HOW THIS IS DONE (OOPS! NEED caps lock off  :-[)
I have 3 sandcasts but only 1 has a genuine thin lip alternator cover fitted. This part is a rare bird so I'm negotiating with an engineering shop to have these replicated like the original. Obviously the more we can get replicated the cheaper it gets so I'm now calling for members to let me know if they are interested in getting on a list to have these produced. If you are unsure if your bike should have a thin lip cover, I can say that VINs under approximately 2000 should have a thin lip cover fitted. If you don't know what a thin lip cover looks like here is a photo.

Now I'm only asking members to let me know if they are interested. This is not a request to commit It is only a request to let me know if you are interested so I can let the machine shop know approximate numbers so we can get an estimate of cost. I am wanting 2 and I have around another 5 wanting these covers so PLEASE let me know so I can get the best deal for the members as possible
Use my PM address to let me know

Hi KP, first of nice alternator cover - I seem to recognize it ;)
I havent forgotten about those alternator pics.  I have taken them and will post them up over the weekend.  Things have been hectic.

Looks like a nice project to undertake.

Regards,
Steven.

Have you had any luck with this?

I was looking at the Yamiya cover and can't tell if it's thin lip or not.  Anyone buy one?  Here's a link:

I'm still weighing my options on my cover.

We are still awaiting  the test to be done. Marty was kind enough to donate a cover so the machinist could set up his mill but last I heard he was scheduled to do the job either March or April
Mark, the cover looks to be a thick lip. The thick section is on the underside and you can just make out what appears to be a thick profile. I could be off beam though KP

I am interested too.  I was comparing my thin-lip with the thick-lip and it looks like it's very feasible.
