Here are two recent ebay auctions where the sellers claimed the items were sandcast frames.  Does this bother anyone else but me?  I realize that anyone who knows anything about sandcasts knows these aren’t sandcast frames.  I’ve been tempted to send them a note but I guess I didn’t feel like appointing myself the sandcast frame police.  But this really bugs me.  Rant over.

So you talked me into it.  I tried sending a message to the latest one and received this message.

"Unfortunately, due to the high volume of messages this seller receives, they are unable to respond to your specific question right now."  ??? ???

I wonder if it's complaints about his auction.

Ebay is full of liars, cheats and thieves. It's almost impossible to stay on top of them and that is part of what makes our BB so valuable. Just posting information on these garbage auctions auctions might help someone.

Don't know if anyone noticed but the second seller digiddave has 62 sandcast items currently listed. I quick look didn't reveal any sandcast items.

I did notice that.  Some of those parts may be correct on some sandcasts but in the ad he lists the non-sandcast VIN that the part came from.  (Must be the frame he's selling.)  Not justifying what he's doing, in fact I think he's going over the line, but where some of the parts are diecast/sandcast, the frame is not sandcast by any stretch.   >:(

I purchased some parts from this seller, the past month.

I also bought some bits off digidave (the other seller is a cock head) and I was satisfied BUT the listing of a frame as sandcast is not good and Mark, I agree with your rant on this item and the message being returned " by evilBay.
I have to give seller digidave 110% on all his other listings though because he has provided the best set of photographs of any seller I have seen in recent times and maybe the best photos of any seller I've ever seen given the hundred or so parts he sold. That's why he got top money
I do accept sellers who place sandcast in their listing if the part is common to sandcast as well as diecast. Carbs, instruments, fenders wrinkle tanks etc etc etc are examples so you may need to cut them some slack as most times it's placed in the listing as a "keyword". At least this seller has identified the VIN number the parts are off and I don't think he has claimed parts are sandcast in the body of the description. I may be wrong. As I said earlier he has provided great photos and clean parts. The parts I received 2 days ago were spotless and well packed
What does piss me off, and these are the 5 things I hate about evilBay, and are:
1. (as Wayne said) the amount of liars, cheats and thieves on ebay and they get away with it. I reported a stolen Item being sold 2 years back and they did nothing. I reported again in stronger terms and they threatened to de-register me. Cops got involved and the guy got jailed. The auction went full term so they don't care
2. Shite photographs that cover up flaws
3. That F#*%EN message that says "the seller is too busy to answer your question". So how do we contact the sellers of these fine parts
4. Postal and Shipping costs inflated and ebay listing system that makes it near impossible to put actual costs. Remember that Pay (f#%k your) Pal get fees on postage payments and this amounts to $3.5 million for every $100 million paid. About 1 months worth of postage payments.
5. When they don't do anything when a seller falsely lists. They are piss f'*en weak
MY RANT OVER  ;D See my next comment. KP

I bought this part off this liar seller
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260706460757&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT
Now here is the only picture he provided and under is the listing detail he also provided

1 Rear Fender for 1970 Honda CB750 with light wiring.  Original, chrome no dents or bends, in great shape.

If you look at about 1.30 am on the fender you will see a mark which I took to be a light flash. Directly below you will see that the mount hole is torn out. I maybe should have picked that one up but I did rely on the description and the photo was of low resolution and didn't respond to enlarging (another seller ploy to decieve) The tear was worse than can be seen in the photo............. Bad move KP  :-\
Here are the photos I sent to Pay Pal when I lodged my dispute cos the seller couldn't see what I was complaining about and then lied to Pay Pal
Wayne's comment  "liars, cheats and thieves" is sooooooooooooooo correct

I LOST THE CASE ............... You be the judge of no dents, bends and in great shape

I haven't bought anything from digidave but I have to admit I've looked at some of his stuff.  I do like the many pics he has.

Can't believe you lost that one.  I know it's not funny but I had to laugh when I saw the cat.  ;D

Sometime, the purchase is a very roulette on eBay.

But when i found the malicious seller i open immediately a claim.

I ever won, with  total money refund or price reduction.

Here's another guy try to pass off an early diecast frame as a sandcast frame.  I see someone commented on it so I sent him a note too.  I don't know why this bothers me so much but it does.

So here's the note I sent this guy:
"The other guy is right. It is NOT a sandcast frame. It is an early diecast frame. Sandcast guys are savvy enough that they won't get fooled but it's annoying when you guys put sandcast in your description hoping to dupe a less knowledgable person into paying more money."
His reply:
"Did not"  ??? ???
I hope this isn't one of the guys here but if it is, come on.   ::)

I think that many persons, really, dont  know the difference from sandcast to diecast.
The word "sandcast" is used and abused without knowleadge.
