I'm trying to get the correct bearings for the crankshaft and i've read that there are supposed to be markers stamped on the bottom case. I can't seem to find it (cases are clean and i have been looking for two evenings!). Anyone have any experience with this? For the record, my engine is number 1629.

Thanks!

Very helpful pic and totally explains why I can't see mine; that area was broken off by a previous owner! I had my welder fill it back in, so those marks are forever gone now!

Off to buy a boar gauge and do this the old fashion way.

Thanks for the help!
