Red or orange?  The repros look red to me.  The old ones look orange.  Just faded?

the original was sort of a red, but not a true red.  there is a bit of orange tint.  it is the typical red color seen on most Japanese bikes of that era.   i was able to buy period packaged nos for 4363, they are not red nor orange.   the color is definitely more red than orange but was not a true red.  i've seen the new switches w/ red lettering.  and i've seen used switches that appear to have faded out orange.

So red in the right lighting from 2 feet away would probably be good enough?  ;)

Hi Mark, The final rendering will entirely depend on red that you use and it would be very sad to miss this last step... Need a slightly bright but not fluorescent red-orange as recent manufacturing..
Here are some good pictures of my two Switch Assy original HONDA 1969/1970 stamped "Made in Japan"
If this can help you determine the Red...

I have no source for painting... They have not been redone because they are new and come from an old stock...
In my opinion the color to make a mixture is 50/50 red and orange or take directly a vermilion red (warm red)
But before doing tests... And I think that it should not put fluorescent in the mixture.

In my opinion, this will fit good:

RAL3000 Feuerrot, maybe you find it somewhere over there.

I found this link of restoration, they used Humbrol n°19...(19 Bright Red)
But perhaps too red and not enough vermilion...

How’s this for a color match.  It is Model Master brand Italian Red.  It definitely has an orange tint to it.  I think it’s pretty close.
