I thought Wayne had asked this question but I searched and couldn't find it.  I know the adjustment screws are zinc but how about the choke lever and linkage?  If it isn't zinc plated what is it?

I've rebuilt 3 carb set.

All the parts are zinched: screws, washers, registers, linkage and chok lever.

Nothing is chromed or refinished in other way.

Not sure what registers is/are.  Also, how about the carb mounting plate.

The aluminum mounting plate for the 4 carbs is natural finish.  Zinc plated parts are washers, choke lever, adjustable connecting rods between carbs, the throttle idle valve adjusting screws, clips for float bowl, the 2 fuel tube joints conecting carbs, the 8 "oval" screws fixing carbs to plate.

Another question: Is the zinc on the carb parts dull zinc?  Looking at mine there is no evidence that they were ever bright zinc.

Missing Riccardo.... :(

Sorry Steve, KP & Co
The Registers are (for me)  the external  idle screws with the litthe spring.

Ciao!

I’m still working on getting my zinc together and now that I've removed my carb linkage I found that the unexposed areas are quite shiny.  They were the same on E100, E1490 and E1789.  I guess I answered my own question.

The unexposed part are abitually a real testimony of the original finish.
