Hello all, first i have to say i found your site very useful as to finding what i bought.   My story goes, as a young boy ( age 8 ) my neighbor bought a new motorcycle and i walk by it almost every day in the nice weather in the early 1970's always stopping to stare at this  big red motorcycle.  Fast forward 40 years and i run into my neighbor at a block party and ask what he ever did with the old Honda, he states that he still has it but has not ridden it for over 25 years. I ask if he would ever think of selling it and to my surprise he said yes, so we take a short walk over to his garage and there it sits in the rear all covered up with junk. It looked a bit rough not the brand new machine i remember but all there. long story short i offer him $500.00 (he later tells me he would have took $300) next thing me and my friend are pushing it around the block and into my garage. now to find out more about what i just bought and did i pay too much, my friend said i was nuts. it turns out not to be a sand cast but an original bone stock 1970 CB750 with 17,000 miles, engine # 1015703 and the frame tag reads 1015444  12/69 some of the early parts include a double cut front fender a no # stamped exhaust and 4 dimple wrinkle tank. I own other old bikes but this is my first Honda so i am sure you will me hearing from me again....thanks Jim

I don't think that's a bad buy.  You've got a great story to go with it.  I have an 11/69 diecast too.  It's what got me into the sandcasts.  A lot of the info here applies to both so you've come to the right place.  Welcome aboard.

Welcome.  Down in my neck of the woods $500 is a steal.   That bike wouldn't have lasted 15 minutes on craigslist.

Great starting point.
