Just noticed. The bike has Red Turn Signals (winkers) on the rear. I have read about them but first I have seen them I think.
-
Some states DOT required red lenses.
-
Also ther is a tire decal under the seat and there is a head neck label.
-
Not in the VIN registry either. Lots of time left on this one and a lot of bids. Too bad this one didn't come along before the last one I bought. This one is better and would have been tempting. It looks like it wouldn't take too much to have a nice one. And its only a few hours from me. Oh well, I've already got too much invested in the ones I have. ::) Anyone want to venture a guess on selling price. I'll go high 20's.
-
I'm thinking mid 20's Mark. I don't think it will break 25 K.
-

The steering head label is standard fitment on US machines. The tyre label is unusual. Very nice example and would be the perfect bike to clean up and leave as is.
Mark, with your previous good call, not sure I want to go there but oh well. Hmmmmm! ??? Say $18k

We need to get a pool going........ ! it's just so difficult to predict ebay results, no way of knowing the number and quality of bidders........
-
Did I miss it at first or did they just add the Buy Now at 17,500.00 ?
-
They must have added it, I didn't see it either. :o Looks like I got a little carried away on my guess. :-[ Compared to the last one, lower number so into the left-hand horn frame, 2-hole airbox, more early bids, I thought it would go more. After taking a closer look at the pictures though it's not nearly as clean as I thought. So kp you're right there!
-
A "buy it now" will separate the "men from the boys" so to speak. My guess was $18k, but KP beat me to it.
-
I'm a sharing caring type of member ;D. Swannie, I'll let you have the $18k :-* I'll amend my guesstimate to $17,5K 8) KP
-
I think not was a good idea add the BUY IT NOW at 17,5k.
This was the death of the auction.
-
I agree. There hasn't been many bids since then.

Re: tire and air pressure adhesive labels
Just rummaging through my Factory Service Bulletins........... ;D
Factory Dealer Service Bulletin, dated January 19, 1970 (no SB number) states -
"American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is providing an adhesive label to remind CB-750 owners of pertinent tire information. Along with this letter, we are sending one label for each unit you have purchased. We suggest for those units already in use, the label is attached to the Service History Card. When the motorcycle is brought in for service, attach as shown below:" (then shown is a picture of label and where to adhese label)
The SB goes on to say, "The label should be attached to the rear fender approximately 40mm behind the rear edge of the seat." A couple sentences later, the SB goes on to read, "CB-750's manufactured after Frame Number 1013459 will have the label applied before delivery."

Steve,
You're full of surprises...........ever!!!!!

Up to $13250 with a few hours to go. The Buy It Now has been removed but the reserve hasn't been met. I expect it will jump in the last few minutes but it won't get close to my original guess. I don't what I was smoking. ::)
-
SOLD @ $15K....Market has really bottomed out in this economy. :(
-
Only $15,000. I had expected more.
Here is an original Dutch CB750 K0, not a sandcast, which is for sale for 13,750 euro (almost $18,000): http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=140171168 (http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=140171168)

Yep, in just the short time since I bought mine and started following the market I have watched the decline. This is nothing compared to the beating the Customs and collectible cars are taking. I wish I had been at the last Barrett Jackson Auction with a pocketful of cash. Cars were literally "stolen" off the ramp. :o Tough times for all.

The seller tainted bidder interest by putting a buy it now price after the auction had started. Putting on a buy it now revealed his bottom dollar sale price and removed the suspense. I'm confident saying the bike would have sold for more, had he not put on a buy it now. Also, in the beginning days of the ad, i don't recall a reserve price, but i could be wrong on that.......... ???
Back in mid-2001, when i was actively looking for a sandcast, before i knew of 4363, i mis-bid on a red 6xxx vin out of Saskatchewan, the bike was nearly pristine, regularly ridden, 3rd owner, ALL original, correct, with 12k miles. Sold for $8750 and MUCH nicer than this bike. Not long after there was a b-g 44xx sandcast, complete, original, not running, not close to as clean as this bike just on ebay, it sold for $3900
I don't feel the final price of this sandcast has to do only with the current economic state as much as Ebay is fickle and viewer numbers and interest is dependant on variables one can only presume to exist. As well, i feel pictures and description as well as layout of the ad make a significant difference. Not sure that WHO is selling the bike makes that much difference, but am sure it does affect to some degree bidder interest and confidence.
However, i am also sure the current economic conditions do keep some from bidding who otherwise would not. But, i don't think these conditions hamper those who have money and desire to own.
